I'm a bit of a music rut and I need some suggestions for some songs available on iTunes to try out.
I'll keep my taste somewhat highlevel because I'd like to try out some new stuff that I may like. So suggest good hits..
Examples of some bands / artists i have songs from (but for the most just 1 from each, so please suggest titles by them too) :
Coldplay, Avril Lavigne (yeah yeah i know), Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Bowling for Soup, Chemical Brothers, Benny Bennasi, a bunch of trance, the beautiful south, the killers, britney (oh well.. ), kelly clarkson (my wife made me!), gwen stefani, kim wilde, the klf, moby..
pretty varied stuff I suppose. no death metal and such...
Give me ideas, i'll make some blind purchases and try something new today!

if you're open to some older stuff (80's and 90's) I can reccomend a whole bunch of great tracks that's you've probably heard a few times but long since forgotten about.

I just d/l Spiderbait's cover of "Black Betty." It is quite entertaining. Easy purchase since any band that releases a cover as their first single almost NEVER makes it. Not a chance I will pick up the actual album.
On a totally different note, I heard this amazing song at a funeral(15 month old girl), last week and had to download it. It is quite a powerful song: the Greenes - Jesus' Rockin' Chair. I'm not a christian music fan in the least, but this song is great if you are open to it.

I second Louis XIV. I downloaded all their music (not much to download) and it fucking rocks. God Killed the Queen and Ball of Twine are excellent tracks, as are most of their other songs.

Try Jem - "They".
Song of the year... or last 12 months... or last whatever. I simply adore this girl. I read marginal reviews on the full album, but it's way better than the Dido comparisons would have led me to think.
Second the Kaiser Chiefs "I Predict a Riot".

I'm not sure if it's available on Itunes (b/c I don't use it), but I'd recommend anything by Howie Day, Guster, or Jump. I mainly recommend them b/c Jump's my favorite band and they need all the help they can get to get promoted and find some recognition.
