Damnation Alley (1977)???
I see this title listed in a stickey and also mentioned a few times in various threads about other things, but nothing recently (this year). I'm starting this thread so that any news can be posted about Damnation Alley.
This is from Anchor Bay:
Anchor Bay Future Releases
There's an online petition for the release of this title:

Anchor Bay Future Releases
A group of apocalypse survivors travel across the wasteland of America in this sci-fi thriller from late director Jack Smight. Expect a brand new 16x9 DVD edition with special features to be announced soon. We are anticipating a late fall debut for this often-requested 1970s classic in 2005. Look for more news soon.

My intent for this thread is to be a repository of information about this title, since there isn't one, and I'm doing my best to post news... thus no question mark. I put a ? in the title to appease the two above, however it doesn't change the thread's overall title.

Hey, anyone (maybe someone in the L.A. area) know if the vehicle in the picture above is the same one that used to be -- and maybe still is -- parked off the Cahuenga Pass in the Universal City area?

Dammit! I too was hoping for a release date. I'm a self proclaimed whore for this film. Caught it in the theaters back in the day and have always been a fan. Man, it was fun to be a young sci-fi fan back in the mid to late 70's.

no - its not been released yet - BUT its 'noticeable' that Anchor Bay Entertainment have 'removed' their IN THE FUTURE page from their website = therefore no updates on this and a few others anymore
(there's a link on an earlier post !!)
Wonder if AB will keep its word and get this out in 2006.....?????
does anyone else have any news about this (somewhat) long requested title ?

Fond memories. My dad took me to see it at a drive-in back when it came out. Good dad...since he hated sc-fi and horror, yet to took me to this one, Yor, Battle Beyond the Stars, Dawn of the Dead (I was nice and said we could leave since that was a bit much for him), numerous Godzilla movies, the King Kong remake, American Werewolf in London, etc. Ahhh, the good ol' days.
