Is 24 season 4 better than the previous ?
I´ve just watched the last episode of 24 - Season 3 ... great ending, much better than the previous Seasons 1 and 2 ... and now I´m just very curious ...
How does the Season 4 compares with previous 1,2,3 ?
Is better or worst than, say, season 3 ?
No spoilers please.
thanks in advance

I find the story line of S4 to be the most gripping of them all. It is something that could really happen. Maybe not Power Plants blowing up, but cells throughout the USA able to cause some real damage.

Season Four is lacking (IMHO) because of Kim's abscense!
Yes-- the cougar trap from S2 was inane.
Yes-- the haircut from S3 was awful.
But Elisha C is super-hot, and I miss her so.

Really? I would be as bold to say you stand alone on your assesment on this board of season 3. But hey, I love em all in their own ways.

I'd like to redact my previous post. After watching last night's episode, I think this actually may actually become the worst season. It's too early to call it for sure, though.
I agree. I didn't think we'd find anything worse than the mountain lion. Then in walks the evil, moronic, corporate white guys who for those at the top of a successful company surprisingly operate under no logic whatsoever.
Like somebody already posted, this show has become a parody of itself. I see shark fins in the distance.

I still think the show is going along really well, although I can see why some people might not like this kind of stuff. If you don't like over-the-top, sometimes-goofy but always-thrilling spy action, then the Jack Bauer Power Hour might not be for you.
To me, this is incredibly entertaining stuff. Although I am enjoying season 4, I do have to agree with those who say it needs to scale itself back into reality. I do NOT think it's in danger of jumping the shark (how could this show jump the shark, unless the ultimate plot revelation is that the terrorists and evil corporation are aiding aliens in an invasion of Earth), but I would love to see season 5 not try to top the previous four seasons and instead deal with something on a more low-key/personal level, much like season 1.
Season 1 is the absolute best, and one of my all-time favorite TV seasons. Hope to see the next season become more like the first.
Season 1 (Near perfect except for amnesia and Dim Kim, best finale ever)
Season 2 (First half was great and the ep where George Mason proved himself to be a real hero made everything worthwhile. Second half dipped except for the cool finale)
Season 4 (Like the plot so far and it flows much better than season 3 but it's the most over-the-top the show has ever been)
Season 3 (Hated the first six "red herring" eps, thought it got a little better in the Mexico sting operation, and really liked the second half until the anti-climactic finale)
Although season 4 isn't over yet, these are my rankings.

Season 1 was the most realistic, like others have pointed out.
But IMO, as far as which seasons I found most entertaining, I actually enjoyed the later seasons more, especially the last 10 episodes of Season 3. I guess I just enjoy the more "grand epic" kind of plots that the later seasons have, even if they are a little unbelievable at times.
And so far Season 4 has been great, although the last 2 episodes have sort of slowed down(but I'm glad Michelle is back).
