Did a search on this topic..could only find notes on velcro vs sticky glue..anyways..

I was visiting Target & CC and saw all Bambi DVD's without slipcovers...I just wanted to know if this is happening everywhere. Thanks!

Maybe Target and CC took them off for protection of the cardboard, and give you them at checkout?

But, that actually makes sense, so for Target and CC to do that, is highly doubtful.

I was at a Walmart yesterday and noticed most copies did not have a slipcase, but four or five copies did.

I was at walmart today and the 20-30 copies they had on the shelves all had slipcovers.

At the Target where I live, "Bambi" has no slipcover, but has the kind of case with the removable plastic locking tabs.

Only the first pressings of Disney movies will have the slipcover.

You should still find some copies with slipcovers at stores.

Also, The Incredibles has a $3 coupon for Bambi.

At least there will be no more worrying about whether you get velcro or booger clue. :D

A lot of stores have been pulling them off due to the fact that some people are taking the slipcovers and putting them over more expensive movies. Nothing like getting a $40 Criterion for the price of a $15.99 Bambi DVD.

I guess that would make you the #1 devil at Best Buy.

I never thought of that.

When I Heart Huckabees came out, I went to the store around 9:30 AM or something like that (it opens at 9 AM) and I saw the slipcover of the SE version. It felt a little light for a 2-disc set so I pulled the DVD out and it was the single DVD version. I pointed this out to an employee who was shocked and thanked me. I then saw Best Buy several Best Buy employees searching around the store for DVDs like this. The yellow shirt/jacket security ppl told all the cashiers to inspect the DVDs under the slipcovers.

That would explain why Fat Albert has (will have) the UPC area cut out on the slipcover!

What is the point of slipcovers anyway? I can understand on movies that have seperate images on the slipcover and regular cover . . . I suppose I can even understand the fold out slipcovers . . . and the "cel" types are cool . . . but why the normal ones? Why damnit why?

I guess I'm just not evil enough to think of those things (putting a different movie inside) either.

I won't be surprised to see them a) go away at the retailer's request b) be shrinkwrapped over the DVD rather than the other way around.

Yeah, I'm surprised they haven't shrinkwrapped the whole package as a standard practice yet.

I never thought of that.

That's because you're an honest-type person. Sheesh, I can't believe the corruption of some people for a few bucks!

Most of the ones at Target yesterday had NO slipcover, but there were still a few that had it.

When I received my enrollment package from the Disney Movie Club a month ago, both The Lion King & Aladdin had the slipcovers. I don't know if this is how they ship all movies or not. Someone mentioned on the DMC thread that you can get Bambi as an enrollment now. So if you're worried about slipcovers you might go that route.

There was a thread here about a month ago where someone mentioned he saw someone put a $50 videogame under a DVD slipcover.
