Nintendo and Namco are teaming up again to bring another Nintendo franchise to arcades. Like the F Zero AX game this will use memory cards to track your progress. This game actually looks like a good mario kart game. Many are comparing this to the console version. The arcade version visually looks more in line with traditional mario kart games than the console (gc) version.

Are going to see a new Mario Kart game this year for the GCN? I hope so.

For all the talk that Nintendo is so much more creative than any other developer in the business, is it a good thing that they seem to be farming out their franchises to other developers on a regular basis now?

Sure, as long as they farm them out to AAA developers like Namco and Capcom and Retro.

Lets them focus on Mario, Zelda etc. and hopefully on coming up with some creative new games for the DS and Revolution.

I'm not too thrilled about seeing Namco involved after playing their Star Fox.

Not creative? HA! Golf got big, so they brought us Mario Golf. Tennis had some good games, so we got Mario Tennis. Fighting games got big so we got Mario Fighting....I mean, Smash Brothers.

What other fantastic journeys await?

As the first ON TOPIC post in this thread, I'll say that this game looks pretty cool!

too bad I will never play it because arcades don't exist anymore in the US, just like F-Zero AX. Looks like it uses the camera in the arcade and you can put your picture in the race and put a mushroom on it. hah! Japan is lucky
