Asian horror/ghost dvd suggestions?

Hello all,

Just saw The Eye and loved it. What other Asian horror/ghost dvd's should I check out? (Region 1 is preferred if available)

Thanks

There's of course The Eye 2. It has basically no connection at all to the original, and is not as good. Most people hate it. I didn't think it was that bad. It has some interesting ideas that expand on the themes of the first movie, and a few really good shocks. The lead actress is also pretty hot.

The DVD is from Hong Kong, but is all-region NTSC and has nice picture quality and a fantastic DTS track. You should be able to find it for less than $15.

Two great films each with enough to knock you out of your seat. If you enjoy Juon I .. check out the followup Juon II. It's even more amped than the first. Juon the Curse isn't bad either.

Audition. Becoming a Miike classic in its own rights. Just beware of the pacing .. some can't deal with it.

Nang Nak from Thailand. More of a ghost story than horror. .. but at times can get fairly eerie and unnerving. Great atmospheric surround sound if you have it. And this is just the VCD version.

Audition is a great, scary and disturbing movie, but it's not a ghost story. Just thought I'd clear that up.

The Grudge movies are really scary, and I also like a movie called Inner Senses. I think it's a Hong Kong flick, and it's an eerie ghost story with some drama mixed in the bag.

Definitely pickup A Tale of Two Sisters when it gets a Region 1 release.

If you can handle older, slower paced (pre-MTV generation) films, then you might want to check out these Criterions:

and

Another recommendation for both Audtion and A Tale Of Two Sisters. By far two of the recent best of this genre.

One Missed Call (when it gets out on Reg. 1)

I haven't seen A Tale of Two Sisters yet, but since it is mentioned with the ones above it has become a must see.

Other recommendations...

Inner Senses (Tai Seng) - Very well done movie/in DTS
The Phantom Lover (Tai Seng)
My Left Eye Sees Ghosts (Tai Seng) - comedy/horror

Tai Seng has many DVD releases, though I haven't been entirely impressed with the subtitles on a few of them. I would definitely check out Inner Senses, if you liked The Eye.
