Mildly hopeful sign about Batman 60s TV Show on DVD
The Catwoman DVD has a generous amount of clips from the Batman tv show. Clips were from the actual show and not just the feature length film.
The show looked great.
I don't believe DC or Fox is "embarassed" by the show. Batman has been interpreted and reinterpreted many times. And anyway, money drives everything. If they thought they could make a profit...but that's a different story.
Lots of clips from all 3 catwomen......

the problem has never been that anyone was embarassed by the show. The problem has been that fox owns the show and the master tapes while warner owns the charachter of Batman. This became a legal dispute when the Batman Movie featuring Adam West arrived on dvd. The MSRP dropped from 30 to 10 over nite...no much money left over for profit.
The Catwoman doc was good....much better than the feature. If the TV series doesn't make it to dvd this with the new batman film to tie in, I have little hope for it. Fox doesn't want to sell the show to warner, and warner doesn't want fox to make money off of Batman.
With Holy Batmania arriving last year, and the Return to the Batcave announced, we can only hope.
When it arrives I hope they do commentaries with the surviving cast members

Yes, there is huge demand for this release... it isn't being held back because anyone is 'embarrased' by it. It is legal disputes about content, that's all.

Batman 60's TV show and legal issues w/ Fox, "can't comment"
can't comment...and thats all the info that is out there
from Stuart Galbraith IV review on dvd talk
Holy Batmania! is, however, stuffed with series highlights; the documentary was produced in conjunction with 20th Century-Fox, the studio behind the TV show. (There are legal reasons the show hasn't yet made it to DVD -- something to do with the whole D.C. Comics, Warner Bros., and Fox relationship to the characters -- but clip use is apparently okay.)
