Enterprise, anyone buying?

I was just curious to see how many people are actually going to buy these dvd sets since Paramount announced the cancellation of the series.

I am definitely buying, especially considering I have the every season set of every series minus TAS, of course. I hope with a looming May 13th final episode, they have the chance to do a proper ending.

Initially, I was only getting seasons 3 and on, but Since the show is now cancelled, I'll get all the season sets and give the first two another try

Probably not, its a weak show so I can't imagine the DVD release having anything too much special.

I would buy season 4 if not for the fact that these clowns are still asking $100 for each set.

Nobody wanted to watch it for free on TV, why would anybody want to buy it? And for $100!?!?

Come on, just because something got cancelled doesn't mean it's a lousy show. There are plenty of examples of good shows getting canned before their time.

I haven't watched any Enterprise at all before, but I'm looking forward to (hopefully) reviewing it.

I've watched the show since the beginning but won't be getting the DVD. It just doesn't have good replay value to me.

I'll wait for the HD/Blue-Ray DVD sets, by that time I should be felling a little nostalgia for Enterprise.

I doubt I will be purchasing it. I am tempted, as I kinda liked the first season, but just lost interested when I missed episodes and they were doing crap with this temporal time war thing that just took me out of the series. I have read plenty about the show actually being considered some of the best of Trek (thedigitalbits, primarily, raved about season three). Maybe if I sat down and watched them back to back I could get into it more, but there is no way in hell I am dropping one hundred dollars per set for a blind buy. If they retail it about as cheap as a season set of Buffy or 24, then we might be talking.

Well, like some here I didn't watch the series at al...er, I did watch the pilot and maybe parts of an episode here or there, but for the most part, no, I didn't watch it.

Now then, because I like Trek for the sci-fi-ness of it and the aliens and all, and have all of TNG, DS9, and VOY, I'll buy this set just for completeness sake. I don't care much for TOS. Just too...oh, I don't know...'60-ish.

I will be buying all the seasons, just like DS9/VOY, and the rest of TNG I don't have along with TOS when I get a chance

even though I've already posted, Paramount has released the extras and disc content for Season 1, which I've posted here, http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...83#post5798083

MSRP of $100, eh? That means the actual sales price should be around $75 or so.

But in this specific case, it does.

Nope, I won't be buying. I didn't like Voyager and I didn't like Enterprise. And I'm not buying them simply because they say "Star Trek" on the spines.

You wish! Every other ST set has been priced $99.99 on release day at BB, CC, $90 on amazon. So good luck finding it for $75.

But every other Star Trek set has had an MSRP of $129.99. So the release day price of $99 was a sale price.

Guys, if you haven't watched season 3 and season 4, you are missing out on an almost entirely different show from the first two seasons. I just read that the dynamic duo responsible for Voyager and the first two seasons of Enterprise essentially handed off the role of lead writer to the guy who did Odyssey 5 which was a top-notch scifi show that itself got cancelled from showtime after only one year into a 5 year arc.

Yep, Rick Berman and Branon Braga were the "dynamic duo" I was referring to.

My favorite Trek since the middle years of TNG and its gotten better and better with each season. I'd love to own it on DVD but think I'll wait for the inevitable HD. Meanwhile I'll catch the repeats or rent them.

You all waiting for the HD versions of TV shows may be waiting a LOOOONG time, with the exception of a few. ENT may get HD treatment sooner because it was shot in widescreen and possibly HD, but for the average TV show, for some, the DVD format is already showing the flaws in the original prints.

For example....Babylon 5. Although JMS has stated that he shot B5 in widescreen in anticipation of widescreen HD TVs, the current DVD prints have a lot of grain in them and I don't see a better print unless they go back and "Lowry Digital" remaster them and re-render the CG for 16:9 display.

Nope. This series betrayed the history of Star Trek. It should never have been made.
