I purchased it on Tuesday night at the Best Buy in South Portland, ME and there were plenty of copies left. I guess people in Boston have better taste than here.

Where in the Boston area are you? I went to the Best Buy in Natick (in the Shoppers World on Rt. 9) on my way home from work on Tuesday evening and they had a good quantity left.

My local stores never had a chance to sell-out. They never got any in stock. No stand-alone RB's and no collections. They said at BB and Borders that they were supposed to come in but.....

Thats cool. I did find the whole collection for 34.99 so I just grabbed that at Suncoast, a place I hardly ever go to.

I had to two Best Buys. The first one only had the single disc edition (and there didn't seem to be any space for the special edition). The next Best Buy had it in stock.

Sold out in Orlando. I bought mine at Wal-Mart. It was a little bit more money but I told myself: hey if Criterion was putting this out I'd be spending $26.

They were sold out in the Bay Area.

I only found the regular version at Union City.

Nashua NH BB was also sold out (or never got them in, they didn't say) Went to the Customer Service desk and they issued me a raincheck. They send you a postcard in the mail when it's back in stock and you can come pick it up--hey, it's worth the wait for $15.99!

did they just not make enough of these? i just don't understand how nowadays big chains don't have enough in stock of seemingly popular titles. i remember this being the case for "Harold and Kumar..." a little while back also. It's like if you don't get it on release you are screwed, at least till the next shipment comes in, whenever that is.

i mean these stories help me rest easier considering i don't mind paying a few bucks more online and get the new releases sometimes 5 days before they are released.

That just isn't right.

I got it for $34.99 at Best Buy. I thought that was a good price for a B&M -- just a couple bucks more than DeepDiscountDVD, and no waiting...

I picked it up at Wal Mart this morning for a spiffy 14 bucks no less. Looked like they still had a decent stock size too.

Got mine on Tuesday at Best Buy about an hour before they closed and they seemed to have plenty in stock, but I don't live in the kind of area where a movie like this would be in demad.

Off topic... Does anyone have any additional pics of the entire set? I'm curious on how it's packed with 3 Amarays and a Digipak...

This going to more than one Best Buy I don't understand.

Take the ad to someone that will price match like Wal-mart. Or if you are a Costco member and want one of the other Scorcese titles anyway it is $13.99 for Raging Bull when buying another title for $8.99.
