Warner has officially announced the Battle of the Bulge which stars Henry Fonda, Robert Ryan, Robert Shaw and Dana Andrews. The disc will be available to own from the 3rd May, and should set you back around $19.97. The film itself will be presented in 2.75:1 anamorphic widescreen along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. English, French and Spanish subtitles will also be included. I'm afraid Warner hasn't revealed whether or not extra material will be included for this one, but we'll let you know if we hear anything. Also available from the 3rd May will be Blood Alley starring John Wayne and Battleground starring Ricardo Montalban. These will also retail at around $19.97 a piece.

2.75:1 transfer? Is that right? I've seen Bulge play on TV in WS and it's never that wide.
I wouldn't mind the colorized version of Battleground. A B&W movie about a fight in the snow, just leaves a bit to be desired in terms of delineation and contrast.

'Battle Of The Bulge' is a good movie, but has two things going against it:
1) Henry Fonda was WAY to old to play a young Lt. Col. The role would have been much better suited towards a Jeffery Hunter or Steve McQueen.
2) Awful rear projections. There are in fact so bad, that they take your attention away from the story.

Man, I can't believe you guys are glossing over the most glairing problem with Battle of the Bulge. The location shots. Considering that a lot of locations, especially the one with the shitload of M-24 Chaffees and PzVIB Koenig's Tigers going at it, the battlefield is nothing like it would have been in Dec. '44 Belgium.
