Stephen King's RIDING THE BULLET Uncut Release Date

From stephenking.com:

"Stephen King's RIDING THE BULLET Uncut:

RIDING THE BULLET is scheduled to be released on DVD April 19th, 2005 in its uncut version (rated R) by Lions Gate.

For those who care...it wasn't any big whoop-dee-doo (there have been faaaar worse King adaptations), but for $10-$15, I might get it...

Caught the movie on USA, better than I expected, some of the sfx still look tv-quality but other than that it's pretty well done for a Garris film.

Now that this title is less than a week away, anyone know of what additional features it offers, other than a commentary track with Mick Garris and Stephen King? If it's just that track and the film itself, then the prices it's going for online are way too steep.

Never mind; my dumb butt just found this at www.dvdanswers.com

"Lions Gate Home Entertainment has announced Riding the Bullet which stars Jonathan Jackson, Erika Christensen, David Arquette and Barbara Hershey. This Stephen King supernatural drama tells the story of a man who embarks on a 100-mile hitchhike to see his sick mother in the hospital. He's picked up by a mysterious stranger, and as the ride continues, he uncovers terrible secrets that leave him with a very difficult decision - life or death for both him and his mother. The disc will be available to own from the 19th April, priced at around $26.98. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extras will include a director commentary, cast and crew commentary, a “Shooting the Bullet” making of featurette, an Art of Riding the Bullet photo gallery, some storyboard to film comparisons and trailers."

Well, I guess that makes a little more sense price-wise, but I still may have to pass for now...

It has two commentaries (none featuring King, both featuring Garris), and some short production featurettes.

[I have an early copy]

What are your thoughts on the transfer? And does it, in fact, feature the trailer for a theatrical release which never came?

Where would Mick Garris be without Stephen King

I find it amusing that the majority of his directorial work is for King projects. I only know of two nonKing films he made(Critters 2,Psycho 4).
