Paramount releasing Classic Nickelodeon shows to DVD - in Season Sets!

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2895

The Clarissa Explains It All - Season 1 compilation in May will be on 2 DVDs, and run 328 minutes for 13 episodes. Paramount Home Entertainment will distribute this title. If this set is successful, we hope it will lead to further "Rewind Collection" releases for many of the other Nick shows named above. Stay tuned, and we'll let you know.
OH MY GOD - YES!

Could The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Salute Your Shorts be next?

HOLY SHIT.

And don't even put that Salute Your Shorts in two seperate sets. Just give me one big three or four disc set with all 26 episodes.

Haha amazing, in December, there was a thread on HTF about "TV on DVD in 2005 Predictions", mine were "Salute Your Shorts," "Clarissa..." and "Hey Dude." Some dreams do come true haha

You all know we have to buy this for there to be a chance of more sets, right?

But hell, I'll buy it anyway. I was always a fan of the show, anyway.

ummm...i can't believe you're mentioning THIS as a classic Nickelodeon show.

"You Can't Do That On Television."

Now, THAT is classic.

Count me as another vote for Fifteen.
Probably rent Clarissa, but it was kinda 'unmemorable' for me, but I did enjoy reveling in the pre-teen angst of Fifteen.
Never watched the Petes or Salute.

And maybe I'm dating myself, but when I read 'classic Nick shows' I was thinking Pinwheel, Dangermouse, Today's Special, YCDToTV. Not sure how 'classic' they are, but that's the time frame that 'classic' brings to mind.

Agreed Let's add Tomorrow People and The Third Eye to the above list too. Thankfully Tomorrow People is available in the UK and I have been getting them as they come out

It is indeed - I hope it finds its way to DVD eventually.

Clarissa doesn't do it for me, but I'm extremely delighted that they're putting the show out on DVD.

Now if the following were to be released... WATCH OUT!
  • Pete and Pete
  • Roundhouse
  • Salute Your Shorts
  • Are You Afraid of the Dark?
  • Tomorrow People
Better yet, they better space those releases out... I'll be swamped!

Last I checked, Nickelodeon had royalty issues with You Can't Do That On Television.

Roundhouse would be great because all of the music was written and performed by the cast.

Danger Mouse is part of the Thames Library and would therefore be an A&E release. In other words, I expect it will be out sometime this year.

I would love to have some Pinwheel seasons for my future children to grow up with. Those obscure little cartoons they showed were pure gems.

Great stuff.

I liked Doug too, before it became 'Disney's Doug.'
But that's a good point, for a while [and possibly to an extent still] there Rugrats was a total cash cow, I'm surprised they didn't just chuck out some sets. [They may have released some single-ep sets, I don't keep up.]
