View Full Version : Best Buy 10% coupons 2/11-14/05

Looks like BB is having another of their 10% off coupons events 2/11-14/05 good for many catagories of products. Good for up three DVDS's

I'm thinking with the Miami Vice price of $32.99 and the Raging Bull at $15.99, 10% off of those might make them the best rates available.

(not considering the Coconuts Free CD thing).

If anyone wants my 10% off the hardware stuff coupon, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I would love a coupon but I am just a cool new member. Can you please tell me where you got it from so I can try and get one. I am buying a TV this week from Best Buy and the coupon would make a huge difference.

Thanks for your help.

They usually come in the snail mail from BB. Last time, I got them after the sale ended.

Good luck using those coupons on sale items. The Best Buy near me will only use it on full price items which makes it almost useles.

I've never had a problem using these on sale items, so I guess YMMV.

Same here, never had a problem with that either.

While YMMV I think the "magic" here might be that the prices for new releases is considered the "regular price" for that week. At least that is what I was told during the Madden Coupon thing.

Maybe I'll try one of those this weekend! :)

Will I be able to use this coupon on Raging Bull which is already marked down for the week?

That's my plan along with Miami Vice!

so where do you get the coupon?

Came in the mail today in a Best Buy envelope. One 10% off coupon for (up to three) movies, music and video game software, one 10% coupon for hardware type stuff and a Rewards Zone bonus points thing if you get some sort of internet phone thing.

There was also a $5 off coupon for video games. Limit 3, no apparent min. purchase. Looks like this coupon was hit and miss for some folks only getting the 10% off ones for electronics and DVD/CDs.

Probably cuz I am a devil customer!

And, if by their definition I am one, I am very proud of it! :)

Does anyone think that there's a chance I will be able to PM Deadwood to CC's advertised price AND use the 10% off coupon? I'm not sure how I would even do it? It's my understanding that I would have to use the 10% off coupon at the register and then I would have to price match at the Customer Service desk from that price. Is there any way that I can pull this off?

I don't think there's any way you'll be able to get the 110% PM and the extra 10% off. You should be able to PM CC at the register and get the additional $6.50 off with the coupon. You'd only get an extra $1.50 with the 110% PM anyway, so it probably isn't worth your time. Not with a competent employee at least.

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean 110% PM + 10% coupon. I simply meant get it for the same price as CC ($64.99) and then use the BB 10% off coupon. So, you think that won't be a problem most likely then?

BB's price even before 10% off beats the hypothetical DDD 20% off, hot deal

CC's price is $64.99. BB's price is $79.99, so it is CC's price that beats DDD's price, but not after the 20% sale (if it comes around again -- and we know it will) because they have it for $66.14 which would be $52.91 after 20% discount. However, I have a feeling that DDD will raise the price of Deadwood to $74.99 after this opening week price, in which case BB at the CC price (just to $64.99 not 110% PM) + 10% off coupon = $58.49 will probably be the cheapest price for Deadwood -- at least over the next several years since HBO never lowers their DVD set prices.

I've done it myself numerous times with these coupons and the Madden ones, but I've had to deal occasionally with the unsure cashier or stubborn manager.

I had a manager once tell me that I couldn't do both because the PM was a "niceity" they offer and they didn't have to do it and therefore wasn't good with the coupon simultaneously. I pointed out the PM is a story policy and not an offer and besides, in order to be consider the "Best Buy" they have to at least match the competitors. She didn't put up much more of a fight, but didn't look to happy to do it :) But that was only one time out of many. Good luck!

Usually those coupons are only 10% REGULAR PRICE and not valid on sale items. However, YMMV depending on the cashier I guess, but technically the answer is NO.

I had no problem doing this in the past. Good luck!

I usually like to wait until the next week's BB deals are posted before I rush into the store with these Friday-Monday coupons. Granted the Raging Bull deal is sweet right now, but I like to see if the Sunday ad lists some sweet 3/$30 or 2/$20.

Just proving how DVD Talk works for me...just like it can work for you!

Someone asked on another forum how BB determines who gets these coupons.

Interesting since I rarely buy anything but dvd's there, never bought a large appliance, not in their rewards program and am certainly a "devil customer".

Only place I can think of that would give them my address was from refund slips. Go figure!

With the 10% off coupon I picked up Miami Vice for $29.69 and Raging Bull Collectors Edition for $14.39 (plus tax. Not as god as Madden but still sweet.

Something to watch for though. If you try a 2/4/$15 on the same receipt it will take 10% off, NOT give you the 2/4/$15. The BB cashier caught that (nice job BB) and suggested we ring those up separately. Did so and all went well!

Gratitude to a well taught and customer friendly BB employee! :)

Has anyone had luck using these coupons on an IPOD? 10% off + Reward Zone points might get me to finally bite the bullet.

I've never had a problem using these coupons on first week sale items, as well. I think most BB's consider them regular prices from Tues-Sun. It's a YMMV thing, but BB always allows me to use them on days other than the 4 days marked on the coupons as well.

Thanks, Kayak99!! You rock! I received the 10% off coupon you sent me today and used it on a new 52 inch Toshiba DLP HDTV. It was mis-priced at $2189 instead of $2499 and then I saved the 10% off (an additional $200) the new price $2189. The set cost me $1998.79. Plus they gave me the free DVD player and three DVDs with the HDTV promo this week. I think the key with using the coupons on sale items is to be low key about it.

Thanks again, Kayak99!
Tim :-)

Glad to be able to help. Hate to see those coupons go to waste and I agree, going low key at BB seems to get more in cases like yours!

Enjoy!

I refuse to spend any more $$ with Bestbuy until I see my $5 digital coupon they owe me . I bought Spiderman 2 a long time ago and never received the $5 for pre-ordering it .
I emailed them the first time and was told "We issue them after the return period has passed" . Well , I guess the return period is 4-5 months ?
Looks like I should load up every un-opened DVD I have and take em to Bestbuy .........
Sorry for the rant , Im a bit tired :)

Just wanna share this feel good story with you guys...

I gave my 10% coupon to a BB customer who's in front of me at the counter. I couldn't use the coupon because I only bought DVDs and it didn't qualify for this particular coupon. This BB customer bought a Toshiba portable DVD player plus some other electronic stuff. So rather than letting my coupon go to waste, I just gave it to him the moment he was about to pay. His total purchase was about $600+ so he saved $60+ right there and he was so grateful. He then told me that all the items he bought were for his wife who's going to undergo chemotherapy pretty soon.

It surely made my day and I'm glad I picked the right person to help :).

Baloux, that's a cool story. My experience wasn't as good as yours. The last time I had a 10% off anything coupon I wasn't going to use at BBY I randomly asked someone if he wanted it (some guy in his late 20s) and he acted reluctant but said OK and took it. I looked around the store for a little while and went back to where I handed it to him after he had left and I found it crumpled in a ball on the nearby shelf.

This last time I didn't receive any 10% off coupons so giving them away is a moot point.
