Not sure if this is the right forum or not but I'll give it a shot...

I get very poor cell reception at home, often being limited to point a certain direction while standing in a very specific spot to just be able to use the cell phone. It would be nice to get better reception and be able to use long-distance services on the cell phone rather than paying extra on the land-line.

Are there low cost solutions to boosting cell coverage at home? For example, there are those antennae for the car...can something like that work at home?

Thanks in advance!

Google for "cell phone repeater" and you'll find all sorts of solutions.

However you probably won't find a really good solution at a "low cost". A passive repeater is basically worthless, and an active repeater probably ain't cheap.

Wow, they are expensive!
Something like the ones for cars wouldn't work?

Nope. Usually those things don't even work in cars. :p
