I need some help on finding an affordable stand and tv screen (vinyl only) for the 50" Sony WEGA TV I'll be getting in a few weeks. Having never purchased a high end television I was REALLY suprised at the cost of stands. I guess they figure If you're dropping a few grand in a tv you'll spend the $$$ on the accessories. So, any help would be appreciated.

The stand:
I'd like to spend less than $300
If possible I'd like the stand to be silver to match the TV but it's not a must
I'd like the stand to be as tall as possible as I have a one year old son.

TV Screen:
Just need a direction to be pointed to.

Pick up a nice credenza or low bookshelf. They make nice stands.
