I saw this advertised in a one-page ad in the newspaper today.

I saw a commercial tonight that said there's a $3 off coupon inside this weeks People Magazine as well as this Sundays paper...that would make this deal even sweeter...I'll join the "I wish they had one of these in SoCal" club. :(

Saw the Ultimate Electronics price in today's paper here as well,
Plus, if you're an AMC Moviewatcher and want to get the kids out of the house, see it for free tomorrow (Saturday) morning on the big screen, and get a $3.00 off coupon for the DVD at the screening.
http://www.moviewatcher.com/sharktale.html
The plan is to pricematch at Wal-Mart on Tuesday and use the $3.00 mfr. coupon to get it down to $8.99, which is about what this so-so flick is worth, to own.

I can confirm it is in People magazine (Teri Hatcher on the cover). It is a postcard like insert. Make sure it is there though since I am sure some people will remove it without buying the magazine.

I have an Ultimate Electronics 1 mile away, but for the first time in months they did not have an ad in the Sunday newspaper nor did I see any $3 off coupon (was it only in People magazine?). I called UE and was told Shark Tale would be $11.95 in-store at my location, so now I'm back to the age-old debate if I should cancel my Gamestop 3-DVD trade-in and hopefully apply it to something else if Gamestop ever offers anything I want. (Unfortunately Incredibles is the only one I want, and I already pre-ordered it from Buy.com.)
I prefer to use my DVD trade-ins for titles that won't be any cheaper than $14.99 (i.e. about $5 trade-in credit each), but quite often when I preorder using a Gamestop trade-in, some place will have it for a few extra dollars off.
If I could find the $3 off coupon to make it $8.95 it would be an easy decision, but at $11.95 I don't know if it's worth it the hassle.

My local newspaper did not have the ad neither. I did see it on Thursday's edition.

I found it in the LA Times today...but the commercial was generic...so I figured it was in Sunday papers nationwide. For those of you who missed it in the paper...it's almost like a subscription card in this weeks People Magazine.

Does anyone have this ad that they can scan and post. I've looked high and low and can't find one anywhere on the net.
Thanks,

Anyone know if Ultimate takes coupons? The closest location is a little out of my way, but if I can get it for $8.99 (after $3 coupon), I'll make the effort...

If anyone finds out about the $3 off coupon and UE, please post in the morning. It would be nice to know before I try it.
Since I managed to get the $3 off Shark Tale coupon and UE is right on my way to work and they said on the weekend that Shark Tale should be $11.95 at 10am on Tuesday, everything seems like it should work. So in my typical cynical fashion I expect UE will deny my coupon. I didn't see anything written on the coupon that it was limited to certain retailers, so I'll make a fuss over it if they deny me. If it does work then I still have to switch my Gamestop preorder to something else, assuming they let me.
I'll have to call UE before they open to make sure they even have it in stock at that price because I don't want to wait around until 10am to be told they are out of stock or the $11.95 (or 11.99) price was just a rumor. I wonder if I dare mention the coupon over the phone or just spring it on them when I'm there. Any suggestions?
Somehow I have this gut feeling if I mention it on the phone that they'll know nothing about it and before I get there they will have researched it with the managers and will have invented a reason to deny it... probably something about not being able to combine it with special offers like the $11.95 price even though the coupon simply states they will reimburse the retailer $3.08. I'm so cynical I've come to expect to be denied on even the most straightforward deals. I honestly believe some of these clerks and managers get off on a power trip by denying people perfectly valid deals and coupons.

First off, I would like to thank you for calling before the store even opens. I mean that isn't rude, right? I mean I love it when people think they can stay in my retail establishment after close or call at any time, and we should be happy about it.
Secondly, of course UE has it in stock on Tues morning - they arn't Best Buy for crying out loud!
Third - the store cost on this movie is over $19, and you all act like the 12 bucks is going to take food off of your table, in which case you shouldn't be spending it on dvd's.
Fourth - it is the best price ANYWHERE even with if they don't take the coupon, so the new releases will be cheap there every Tues.
Fifth - UE is starting an agressive campaign with DVD's to increase foot traffic.
Lastly - Yes, UE is indeed honoring the coupon! But I personally think that YOU should buy it online anyway!
Thanks and have a very pleasant day!

My UE didn't take the coupon, but I bought it anyway for their price. Had to make a stop a BB anyway, so I took my receipt and coupon in there figuring the worst that could happen is nothing. I asked the girl if they take manufacturer's coupons, she said yes. I asked if she could beat the price on the UE receipt, she said yes. Ok, I let her ring me up. PM'ed the UE price from 15.99 to 11.95 and took another 10% off the UE price to make it 10.75 (god I love that they don't understand their own policies). Tax brought it to 11.67 and she manually took off the $3 for the coupon making it a grand total of $8.67. Pretty good deal in my book. Called my mom and she's willing to take the first one off my hands so that saves me the hassle of a return at UE and she gets a good price. Everyone wins, except Best Buy and that's ok by me.

are you the CEO of Ultimate Electronics? Cuz you refer to it as "your" store.

I price matched it at best buy and used the coupon from People. It was 9.74 with tax. Great deal. I only price matched because I had to go to best buy anyway. I go in UE all the time anyway, so they didn't need my foot traffic today. I did tell about 5 people at Wal mart about the sale that was looking at Shark Tales and they were all going to head over to UE.

FYI, no problem here at UE using the coupon,
I went to the nearest one yesterday (Woodbury, MN) to see if they'd accept the coupon or if I'd have to pricematch elsewhere, and they were already familiar with the coupon by the time I got there.
In fact, one cashier told the other as she rang me up, that it was in their system and sure enough, she just scanned the barcode on the back of the coupon and it showed automatically as a $3 deduction, so $9.53 for Shark Tale out the door. Didn't try the Shrek 2 add-on as someone mentioned.

if anyone has trouble using the coupon at ultimate electronics, tell them to go check their company email account....the clerk at the store i went to in okc was refusing to accept the coupon insisting that the title was already discounted the $3...yeah right...
a manager walked by and the clerk asked the manager and he replied "oh yeah there is an email from corporate on how to use the coupon"...she went and checked and sure enough with the email in hand she was able to figure it out....
