Shall We Dance? (Japanese Version) for $14.99 at Tower Records B&M store

I saw a flyer at Tower Records that showed that the Japanese verion of Shall We Dance? is on sale for $14.99 at Tower Records. This title is a $29.99 MSRP title which Tower usually has on sale for $19.99. They must have it listed in their system as a $19.99 MSRP title and that's why they have it on sale for $14.99. They did a similar thing with the Trainspotting SE.

Just let you guys know that Borders B&M also has the same low price $14.99. Since this is a foreign film and very few people have seen it, the DVD won't sell fast. If you wait until a new 25% off coupon shows up, you could get it for ~$12.

This is a very very underrated film. This film is beautifully made and it deserves an Oscar for the best foreign film. If you have only seen the US version, you must see the Japanese original. It's just too bad Miramax didn't bring the original cut to the DVD as it did on Cinema Paradiso.

Looks as if the new MSRP is $19.95. Although not all places have caught up with the price drop, it is showing at $14.95 at DVD Planet also.

dvdphilic -- Thanks for the tip about Borders. I picked it up at the Eugene Borders tonight, along with some WB classic titles as part of their "buy 3 get 1 free" promotion (In additon, I used the 10% coupon posted in this forum, so it came out to slightly more than $10 per title!)

marty888 -- According to the CS rep. I spoke to this afternoon, this title is backordered at DVDPlanet and they're not expecting any new copies until the end of the month.

I'm so happy that this has finally been released on dvd. I've been watching an old used copy I bought at Tower Records several years ago.

This DVD is ca$ 15.98 at DVD Soon.
If you have an Fidelity iCard, it's even cheaper (I got mine for ca$ 11.98)

Bought an overpriced CD instead.

Blade, go to http://www.bordersstores.com and do a title search. Shall We Dance (1997) comes up at $14.99 there (though there is a disclaimer that store prices may vary.) Print out that page, do a "reserve for in-store pickup" and they'll probably honor their website price when you go back.

Good idea. Thanks! I'll try that.
