In my local grocery I saw a box of Kelloggs with a free Episode I offer. I'm guessing it will be the reissue with a better transfer. It was a box of Bite-Size Frosted Mini Wheats with a promo for Episode III on it. I believe the offer was free Episode I with 7 or 9 UPC's ( I forget :hscratch: )with the star wars logo, or 3 UPC's w/logo + $9.99.

i think the Episode I disc is exactly the same as the old one...the upc is even the same. you may have to wait for a better transfer...but honestly...that transfer is pretty good.
if you have a link that says its a new release i would love to see it

Just wanted to note that you don't have to buy just cereal. Whatever has that dvd in the dvd player door logo on the packaging. Also included eggo waffles, and keebler sandwich crackers (are the crackers the cheepest out of the lot?).

Sounds like that store jumped the gun, The episode 3 cereal, along with all the other episode 3 products (aside from the sneak preview toys) shouldn't be on shelves until sometime in April. You could probably do pretty good ebaying it.

I'm not sure you'd find it that convenient to have 1/5th of a DVD in a cereal box! ;)

I wonder if the free DVD comes in its own keepcase and coverart, or in a paper sleeve full of ads.

I was thinking about that as I poured my cereal a few minutes ago. I bet it's a paper sleeve like I got from Papa John's.

What happened to free right in the box?
Oh well, at least they don't charge shipping, which probably means that we will get a paper sleave.
So which of these movies are worth it? Return to Me was pretty good but it was the only one I've seen.

'12 Angry Men' is a good (classic)movie, and 'Hackers' has Angelina eye candy.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but Lemmon and Danza were BOTH in the 1997 TV-movie of 12 Angry Men. The Kelloggs/Keebler promotion is the 1957 theatrical version, starring Henry Fonda as the holdout juror.

I'm pretty sure he meant breasts. Kind of odd that they'd include a movie with a topless scene. If I were getting in on this, I'd get 12 Angry Men (substance), Honeymoon in Vegas (fluff), or Hackers (fluffy substance or substantial fluff, depending on how one looks at it). None of these are expensive discs, so if one doesn't plan to eat the cereal, waffles, what have you, one would probably be better off buying them outright.

Hackers is an awesomely bad movie starring a young Angelina Jolie.

...Don't want to take this thread off course, but have to strongly disagree with that. The Ep. I DVD has way too much edge enhancement and high frequency filtering applied. On a larger display it's very distracting. The original trilogy DVDs look immensely better.

This offer has started up again, this time with <a href="http://www.kelloggsmovies.com/promotions/foxdvd/">8 Fox titles</a>
Beverly Hillbillies movie, Lake Placid, Gentlement Prefer Blondes, Jumpin Jack Flash, Airheads, Catch That Kid, Love Potion No. 9, and Dr Doolittle (with Eddie Murphy)
One I would want the most is Airheads, but I already have it. Well, I'll probably get enough certificates from buying the product anyway, so I'll get a free movie for the hell of it

I have two movies from the cereal offer: The Beverly Hillbillies and How to Marry a Millionaire. I believe these are the same discs as the store bought versions--just packaged differently. They come in envelopes instead of plastic cases. The Beverly Hillbillies is widescreen on one side and full screen on the flip side. The special features are the Theatrical trailer and teaser and 2 tv spots. The How to Marry a Millionaire also has special features: Theatrical Trailer, Fox Movietone news footage of Marilyn and Jane putting footprints in cement, one sheet gallery, restoration comparison, and Marilyn Monroe Theater (original theatrical trailers of 4 other Monroe movies). The movie is fullscreen, though.
