yeah, the way that the OP's prices work are that the item is underneath the prices. Since there are no spaces, it can be difficult to read.

My guess is that shark tale is a "low price" of $14.99 or worst case scenario $15.99.

It might be possible for the Goodfellas to be the older edition, as I have seen it in the bargain bin at my local Wal Mart.

If not, I will be all over it for $10 as the special edition. I almost bought it for $20, I might be glad I waited.

Thinking about getting Bourne Identity and Goodfellas. For Bourne Identity, they have a list price of $19.99 on the web site but are also listing the Bourne Supremacy/Bourne Identity two-pack for $19.99 (release in April). May have to hold off 'til then.

some things from the ad:
$14.99: Shark Tale
$19.99: Raging Bull SE, Ray
$16.49 (not $16.99 as OP reported): The Manchurian Candidate, Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 2, Dodgeball, I, Robot, Anacondas
$9.99: Shrek 2 (save $3 on it with purchase of Shark Tale thus making it $6.99)

with the 2 for $20: Riddick & DotD are the Unrated versions; Goodfellas is the 2-disc SE; Eternal Sunshine is the regular version;

Just got back from CC and they not only had no Goodfellas, they only had FS versions of Starsky & Hutch. Usually I'd just give up, but these are two titles I've been after, so I waited around to get some service and filled out a raincheck. When I told the girl working there that they had to put Starsky & Hutch on the raincheck, too, the guy next to me said they had them over there. I said I wanted WS and he told me that he wanted FS and that he didn't care about WS. My desire to have Starsky & Hutch in WS prompted him to check his own titles to make sure they were FS. I resisted the temptation to explain it all to him, but it's really not my place.

Picked up two copies of Goodfellas. Sweet deal.

Very puzzled by the sale though, since CC notes that the 2 for $20 regular prices are $14.99, but Goodfellas ($19.99) and Rain Main ($9.99) are examples that don't quite fit. I guess it means if you bought two copies of Rain Main, you'd be paying two cents more than buying them separately! Anyway, I'm glad I finally picked up Goodfellas.

I'm not sure if this's been mentioned but my local Circuit city has the newest U2 GO HOME concert DVD for just $15.99. Best Buy and Fry's are selling it for $24.99. The crappy CC in my area was sold out of most of the good stuff in the 2 for $20, 7.49 & 4.99 bins. They apparently had very few Goodfellas DVD's - you'd think they would have stocked up before a sale. This happens so many times, I'm about ready to avoid going there at all. Best Buy won't price match of CC is sold out of the item so I had to go to Wal-mart to pricematch (and they did it without problem).

If anyone doesn't have it or hasn't seen it, Tin Cup is an awesome blind buy at $4.99. One of my favorite sports comedies (if not #1), by the director of Bull Durham.

Same for Dead Calm - good flick, and Nicole Kidman in a bathing suit.

I am not to judge video with my 27" analog TV, but the sound quality is nice - dialogue driven, so sound effects are minimal, but the soundtrack music sounds good.

Widescreen review gives it 4.5/5 for picture and 4/5 for sound.

The ad I'm looking at clearly says Save $3 when purchasing Shrek and Shark Tale together.

1) It's Shrek, not Shrek 2 (damn!)

2) Shrek is $12.99 before discount, and $9.99 when purchased with Shark Tale (not $6.99)

Just went to CC during lunch break and the Goodfellas SE was already out of stock. The only titles remaining in the 2 for $20 deal are Under the Tuscan Sun, Pitch Black, Van Helsing and Fargo.

I tried going to CC for the Goodfellas DVD. They were sold out. They refused a rain check and said they didn't know when they would be re-stocking the title.

I asked the clerk if they only had 1 copy of each title, and used them to get people in the store. He said "quite possibly that is what they did".

I went to Best Buy and did a PM.

02-08-05, 09:11 PM
This happens frequently at my local CC. They will have a really good sale price and they will have enough for a day or so. This may get people in the store but wouldn't it piss more people off than encourage them to shop for something else while they are there? Myself, I get pissed off and immediately go to BB or Walmart to pricematch. I think I will just avoid further frustration and pricematch right away without stepping foot in CC.

drmoze, there was a $3 off coupon on the front of my Shark Tale DVD package for either Shrek or Shrek 2 (or Stallion). I didn't use it because I already had those. So between the 2 coupons in the paper and this coupon, both Shreks were covered. I had 2 sets of coupons, but as expected I wasn't allowed to use the $3 off Shark Tale coupon twice. :( The clerk at UE asked for my other coupons which I gave him.

drmoze
02-09-05, 12:03 PM
Manzana--you're right. I just checked in-store and the $3 coupon on ST is indeed for SHrek or Shrek 2. The print ad only had $3 of Shrek, though. Just in case anyone else is following this.

Of course, the Union Sq CC in NYC had no copies of Shrek 2. BB it is, then...

Sunday afternoon I went by my local CC and they too did not have any in the bin. I looked all around the new release area and in both the "action" and "drama" sections. I was just about to leave when I found it fully stocked on some other rack by the customer pickup area. This is not the first time I have found sale ad items not stocked in the " dvd bin". It maybe be worth your wild to carefully look around before leaving. -other-

This is not the first time I have found sale ad items not stocked in the " dvd bin". It maybe be worth your wild to carefully look around before leaving.Circuit City's shelves are so difficult to browse through that even the employees have difficultly locating sale titles that are to be moved to the bins. This week I found pristine copies of "Conspiracy Theory" and "Dead Calm" on the shelves, though the bin was completely empty.
