Found my local WalMart is selling Penn & Teller's B.S. Season 1 and 2 bundled together for only $29.99.

I'm assuming this is the censored covers?

Can anybody confirm this or is it YMMV? also how much different are the uncensored from the censored version. I have wanted to pick up season 1 for awhile, but never saw it for less than 25-30 bucks.

One censors the title on the cover and the other does not. Content-wise they are identical.

Hmm.. The Season One I have seen at Best Buy says BULLSHIT, but has a Censored graphic over the SHIT part. I have never seen the B.S. cover before.. Wonder if they changed that.

What type of cases are those in? I'm probably going to jump on it but would like to print out the original uncensored covers if they aren't digipak.

I read somewhere that they changed the cover for exacly the problem that we have in this thread. People were getting confused whether or not the actual show was censored.

of the old season cover, the censored cover was funny with the little disclaimer sticker. shame that isn't used anymore.

The season 1 case is a paper slip cover over three ultra slim dvd cases. The ultra slim cases have the same picture as the slip cover.

Pretty good deal, considering Amazon's price for Season 1 alone is $29.99 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00019PDNY/)!

I just discovered Season 2 isn't coming out until Tuesday, which would explain why I haven't seen it anywhere. Oh well.

Normally I'd agree. I get many of my DVDs from Canada to save money. Lots of them have some of that French writing that sends so many of our members into conniptions and I couldn't care less.

But Penn's & Teller's show is very special to me and I don't want that stupid cover that avoids using the title of the program.

Movie Gallery has season 1 (used) for $9.99. Cover says "Bullshit" but its the red & wite cover. You sure that's the whole season? The Movie Gallery near me had it too, but they had the discs seperately and were charging $9.99 per disc, so if they had all three from the first season (which they didn't) it would have cost me $30 to get them.

None at my Walmart, they didn't even know it was coming out today.........Same here. They hadn't even heard of it. In fact, I don't think they ever carried Season 1, much less Season 2 or the bundle. Still waiting to hear confirmation from someone other than the OP.

But I didn't leave empty-handed. Since I rarely go into Wal-Mart, I looked around for a while, and found an unmarked copy of the Charlie Chan Chanthology set (MSRP $70, cheapest online price about $43). I asked the cashier what the price was, but the UPC wasn't in the system, so he called the manager. After a while he came back and said he'd charge me $20. Needless to say, I took him up on it! Also picked up a few $5.50 titles, including the 2-disc Standing in the Shadows of Motown. Not a bad haul after all!

Edit: found one on the fourth try! It was in the New Release boxsets at the Round Rock WalMart (I35 & 1325). They had 2 more copies as well. So if anyone in the Austin area is still looking, don't bother with the stores at I35 & 71, I35 & 183 or I35 & Parmer.

Guess I'll just keep searching at other WM's, but their DVD sections are generally so disorganized and the staff so uninformed, you really have to dig. And of course no catalog system to check...

I found this tonight at a regular Wal-Mart. it was in the regular DVD section, and with the shelves they're using unless you nitice the little sticker on the front its impossible to tell its a 2 pack, all I could see was the front cover of season 2

Found this (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=3596807) on their website, but it's listed as out of stock. Maybe they'll stock it soon?

(I wonder if those product id's are tied to store SKUs at all...)

I'll have to check bay area stores tomorrow or something for this. I never picked up the first set and this price is a steal...

Really, talk about bullshit. Not only is it irritating when when they switch the packaging within a series in such a radical manner, but the second season is three DVDs in three full-size keepcases? Christ on a badger.

I almost bought this, but was totally turned off by ginormous size of the second season box. (Look at "Wonderfalls," also released this week. Three DVDs in a box no larger than a standard keepcase.)

Got it at my local walmart. Keep in mind that they are packed back to back. Not side to side like most double deals. I saw BS season 1 on the shelf and when i pulled it out, season 2 was on the back of it. So if you see season 1 take it out to make sure it's not the double pack.. got it for 29.99 plus tax

I agree with you on this one. However, I picked up an S2 with a "Bullshit!" cover at Fry's. You may want to reconsider the deal, because when look at the keepers inside the slipcover, they say "B.S.!"

Oh, the irony of editting out the word "shit," even inside the cover, on S2. Showtime might as well have renamed it Penn & Teller: Santa Vaca! for the Wal-Marts of the world.

Mine was sent snailmail from Texas and it took it more than a week, according to the tracking, just to get out of Texas and it finally made it's slow trek to me two days ago. But it was worth the wait, it's a great set. :)

It's definitely worth the 29.99 for 6 discs. I had never seen the show and decided to buy it based on the reputation of P&T and what I've heard about the show. I have not been dissappointed in it at all.

Of course, after I pay the extra for shipping by ordering the sets from their website, one of my local Wal-Marts finally gets it in. Still, it was worth every penny I paid. As a good friend's ex-girlfriend was one of the original members of PETA, that particular episode of Bulls**t! made this a must-buy (for both entertainment & harassment value.)

You can just pop it in from time to time as each episode only runs between 22 and 29 minutes. I dont watch more than 2 episodes at once so I can let what they just said sink in a bit. The 30 dollar price tag was definitely the hook in my mouth.

For you guys finding this in your local Wal-marts...can you please tell me where in the dvd sections. I went by my local Wal-mart today and it is a wonder anyone can find a dvd they want there. The have several different sections but many things are incorrect in all of the sections. I looked hard but did not find any.

Who the hell decided Wal-mart's dvd section layout? Rain Man would have done a better job.

RevKarl
03-08-05, 04:44 PM
The two WalMarts in Eugene are being "redesigned," so they are both more disorganized than usual (which is saying a lot!) I found the P&T 2-pac down at the bottom of the newer (last 2-4 wks.) release section of one store; the shelf tag just listed Season One, but I pulled one copy out and Season Two was attached (just like the set I received from WalMart.com.)

"Raymond Babbit" would have put this...and all the dvds collections...in the designated "Box Set" section, but he's probably still too busy counting cards in Vegas.

In with the new/recent releases at the front of the isle (but at the end) across from the television sets.

I may be the only one who tried and failed to find this in stores (I checked multiple stores in 3 states), but it is now available on Walmart's website. This could mean that they are re-stocking the stores as well, but I'm not willing to risk that, so I ordered it. Cheapest shipping is $1.97. I hope this helps someone.

Wow. Got my order in the mail today. It has both of the seasons shrink-wrapped together with a sticker saying, "Special Offer! includes Season 1 Box Set!"

It also has a stickered UPC on it of 7-58445-20972-3. Maybe this was a special done to promote Season 2 for someone and this is just an overstock the Wal-Mart got?

Unfortunately, as it has been discussed, both packages state "B.S.!" instead of spelling it out. Kinda ugly but I guess I can live with that for such a good price (and since my personal initials are B.S. :))

I FINALLY got around to renting the show from Netflix. After watching the first disc I knew I had to buy the rest. I almost forgot the great deal at Wal-Mart but when I remember and checked I was thrilled to see it was in stock again.
