Too bad there's no STL anymore to make the deal a bit better. I have most of these anyway, but thought someone might want to take Amazon up on this. Comes out to about $7.78 per title (some are 2-disc editions, and Gone with the Wind is 4 discs).

Wonder if that is the correct price since Amazon will most likely cancel all orders if they discover it was mispriced. I have no interest since I already own all titles but three on the list, otherwise it looks like a good deal. If anyone has an A9 discount available on their Amazon account it would help lower the cost a bit.

I own 8 of the titles. Pretty good deal, however, Warner Brothers will be more than likely upgrading a few of those titles. An American In Paris and Gigi are almost guaranteed to be re-released in 2-disc sets.

Well, since I collect Best Pics DVD's, I'm going for this. I have 3 of them (Gone with the Wind; Casablanca; Unforgiven), I'll have to get rid of. This will make 33 of 76.

It's a steal considering $7.78 per title on average. Gone with the Wind by itelf costs nearly $30 and the rest of the Warner's 2-discers cost around $18 each. So it's a very, very good deal.
Too bad I already have 8 titles out of the 18.

Not sure if there would be a way to tell. Maybe writing Warner or Amazon might get a response though Amazon CSR's probably don't have any info outside of what is on the site.
Since they don't appear to be housed in any collection type box they are just packaged like they would be if one purchased all individually.

If someone DOES want to do this and already has a couple of the titles, let me know... some of the more common movies on there I'm actually missing. (Gone with the Wind, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Unforgiven). I'd be up to split an order if someone wants to... the price-per-film in this deal is really good, and I wouldn't mind picking a few of those up.
Not only that, but you probably have to pay a 1% conversion charge on your CC.
Plus, if you use the Pi/2 Discount, your price will be about $137.79 at Amazon.com.

For dv2 members, it looks like dv2.com has this for $120 shipped. Plus you'd get $10 in funcash for that. Pretty good deal there.
I'm not 100% certain that this is the same collection, though, since there's no picture and no UPC listed. The odds of Warner putting out two 28 disc collections called "Best Picture Oscar Collection" would seem to be pretty slim, though.

I ordered this set, but now I am concerned. The smaller box sets do not include the 2 disc versions of Unforgiven, One Flew or Amadeus. I know this because I held these sets in my hands today and they included just regular snapper single discs for those titles. The 2-disc versions are the ones i must have ... has anyone seen this set yet ... and does it for sure include 28 discs?
Thanks.

Alright, first time running across this thread. At 150$, they're at 8 + for each film (which isn't bad at all). Is there anywhere else (STATESIDE) that is offering this set at a better price?
Note: I say stateside b/c I've never ordered from dvdsoon and for a difference of 5$, I'd rather have a hassle-free transaction than to order from a non-stateside vendor.

Availability: This title usually ships within 1 to 2 months. Please note that special order titles occasionally go out of print, or studios run out of stock. We will notify you if we are unable to obtain this title.
I ordered on 2/3/05 and my info is:
Shipping estimate: February 15, 2005
Delivery estimate: February 17, 2005 - February 18, 2005
I called Amazon and they told me that Warner probably got more orders for this than they expected so they have to make more of them and that's why it's taking so long.

Amazon just raised another $10 on this pack. It's now $159.98. Price's gone from $140 to $160 in only 48 hours. How disappointing!
I have ordered this pack from Columbia House DV2 for $119.95.
If the Columbia House DV2's pack is identical to Amazon's pack, then DV2 is the best deal.
It's strange DDD doesn't carry this pack.
I'm still wondering if any DVDtalker actually has seen this pack. If somebody has, please feed us some details.

Sounds like Dv2 is the best deal. I tried signing up on their website, but it doesn't want to accept my info (I live on a Military base, and this happens often). They make mention of a "toll free customer service 800 number" but they don't state what that number is ... does anyone who is already a member have that number on hand? Mahalo

Could you be more clear about where you had this set in your hand? Was it an order from Amazon or BN? Your post makes it sound as though it may not have been.
That said, I don't know if it'll make a difference-- but the picture (provided by WB, I presume as it is copywritten by them...) clearly contains at least the 2-disc versions of Unforgiven and Amadeus. I can't see OFOTCN in the picture.

I have it on hold at an HMV location in Canada. What I need to know is if the set shipped from Amazon is the same as the one I've seen? It should be - but I can still cross my fingers that there is a set out there with the 2-disc editions as well.

Same here. I called, and she was willing to send out just the replacement discs. But, ended up sending the whole set. I'm thinking it's going to be the same set again. She even said, to give them a call when I receive the 2nd set, and let them know if there are any problems and they can send out just the replacements.
