DVD Talk review of 'Monster: Special Edition'--getting the facts straight
I read Randy Miller III's DVD review of Monster: Special Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=14126 and...
i just wanted to let him know that not only IS there a feature-length documentary about the real-life serial killer, but there are TWO of them done by the same wonderful documentarian Nick Broomfield. Both of these films are available at any fine dvd store and both came out at the same time of the 1st dvd release of Monster--in fact, the 1st documentary (the 1992 tapes) i believe were included in some 2-packs of Monster.
please get the facts straight before posting a silly add-on at the end of your review.

The way I read it, he was commenting on the fact no documentery was included in the special features, and that would have been an almost expected addition to the SE.....

Nah, it would have said new member, I think. After wiping away the tears of laughter brought on by MM's post, I must say it sounds like the guy just jumped the gun...read Randy's review too quickly, assumed he didn't know of the two docs, and posted. Hell, I pull the trigger before thinking all the time.....
It would have been a major (and cool) upgrade to see a documentary about Aileen Wuornos on the Monster SE, but if Columbia Tri-Star is making cash on a seperate DVD for Life and Death of a Serial Killer, then you can see why they wouldn't include it. The Selling of a Serial Killer is from another studio (DEJ Prod.) so that one wasn't going to make it.....

It doesn't say "New Member" because his first "post" was through the Discuss This Review link, and it goes through another process. I could be mistaken, but I would suspect if he posted again in this thread, it would flip to New Member. He couldn't use Matt's image as an avatar, though ... yet.

I plead ignorance to the inner-workings of this site.
BTW, if you haven't seen the two documentaries, they're both worth a rental (preferably seen around the same time as the movie).
