Is it the corrected version? Or do you have to send it to Universal to get the good version?

That is the new lower price. Been posted in a few threads already. The corrected disk are supposed to be easier to find in B&M stores now, but a few people are saying that stores still have a bunch of the old stock on hand and so you will still have to go through the normal exchange deal.

Aren't they rereleasing the trilogy sometime this year?

New stock has an orange stick on the front saying "ALL 3 MOVIES! LOWEST PRICE EVER OWN IT BEFORE TIME RUNS OUT!" and this sticker also says if the set is widescreen or fullscreen. The UPC on the back of the box no longer says if its widescreen or fullscreen. There is no v2 on the box. The BTTF2 disc says v2 on it, the BTTF3 disc does not, however people have checked and it is properly framed.

Thanks for the info!

Is there another thread floating around where the "people have checked" and posted?

I'm soo tempted but something tells me Universals planning something for the 20th anniversay... I want this so bad, but damn if I'll be double dipping in 6 months.

Anyone here of a new release of this?

There better not be a 20th anniv release, how much more could they add? This trilogy already has like 10 hours of extras.

well it's cheaper for me at DDD which has it for $20.40, with tax it is more expensive at best buy in NY.

If you buy two $5.99 Dvd's it will reduce the price of the Trilogy by 10% to $17.99. It works, I did it yesterday.....

wouldn't wait for this one...2 commentaries a movie and a load of features (even Kirk Cameron) Don't screw around...might see it in HDDVD but I would guess thats a ways off.

You will love it

Just keep in mind that if you order online, you risk getting the older misframed edition. Then you'd have to do an exchange of discs 2+3 with Universal.

I'd pay the extra buck or two to buy it someplace where you can actually see the packaging and confirm you're getting the right set. Less hassle.

What would happen if you return the two $5.99 dvds? Would they take 10% off the refund money to compensate for that. My guess is no, but I'm a horrible guesser.

Nice tip! Also, thanks for the heads up, OP, and for the info on the orange sticker, Jcheckel

I'm gonna bite!

So what's this 5.99 thing? Is it any 5.99 DVD or is there a list somewhere?

If I remember correctly, it's an instore thing. (I think I saw it in store once) Buy a fixed number of 5.99 crap dvds, save 10% on a regular price DVD.

Hmm, I found a link on the site to a bunch of 5.99 DVDs from Warner Bros. I put 61* and Dark City in my cart but they didn't do anything to the price.

What did the OP order?

I agree. I have had this set for a while and I rewatched the trilogy last weekend. The movies have great transfers and tons of extras.

Is there a list of $5.99 DVDs that qualify for the discount? This can be done at Best Buy B&M, correct?

Update 1/26/05: Best Buy was OOS today, but I did get a raincheck.

this is in-store only. Also, I thought that the deal expired in the beginning of January but I guess that they extended it?

This set is $17.99 @ Costco, if you are a member and want this set, I suggest you go there.

But one problem, you have no idea if its WS or FS, I took a chance and bought it anyway and it was WS

The sleeve does not say it but when you open it up, it says it on the DVDS

I just came back from Costco, it is $18.99 here in NJ (East Hanover)... The way to distinguish widescreen and full screen is by the UPC code:

widescreen: 025192212123
full screen: 025192213120

Has anyone confirmed if this version is the corrected widescreen version? I wanted to know before I pick this up.

I think it depends on where you get the DVD. Page 1 of this thread explains how to identify the new V2 corrected version.

Picked mine up in-store at BB last night. It was the corrected version.

I got my copy at costco in NY for $17.99. There was no sticker on the front so I just went with the UPC number and there is a V2 on the second disc but none on the third. I hope these are the corrected versions, at least there widescreen.

From post #7 of this thread, it is the newly corrected version. Only disc 2 has V2 on it, but not on Disc 3.
