Elvis Presley ReMastered
I just placed an order for a couple of the newly ReMastered Elvis cd's. Anyone hear the ReMasters of "Elvis Is Back" and "From Elvis In Memphis" from 99? How does the quality compare to the versions found on the early 90's "Essentials" boxes?

I'm in the same boat as yourself. I too am trying to get a good sampling of Elvis material in the least amount of discs as possible. From what I gather these pretty well do a good job of giving a good picture of his work.

Thanks for the info Bob. I had no idea that they were being released. From what I saw of the listings, I have most of these songs already. It's good to know that Elvis' music is still being released so a new generation can hear him.
BTW, what do you think about the sale of EPE? I know Lisa Marie still owns Graceland but to sell off just about everything else is just blows my mind? Why would she do such a thing?

Just wanted to let any Elvis fans know of a pretty damn good deal on an upcoming boxset of 60 cds!
http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/ne...luxeedition%29
Skip the American release and go with the British one (no difference) which is currently 159.99 pounds before VAT on amazon UK. So it is even cheaper stateside. My preorder is showing up for 136.41 shipped which is approx $198.37 which is only $3.31 a disc.
The cheapest price so far at the Amazon US is $297.98.
Hit the link for more info.

I took advantage of Amazon UK's "Thank You" one day discount last month, so I was able to pre-order this with shipping for $185!
I'm actually overwhelmed by the prospect of this box set. When the hell am I going to have the time to listen to 60 discs?

Yeah, I am a little intimidated. I have always been an Elvis fan but never owned anything else but his Top Ten greatest hits. My parents had several of his records and my grandparents had every one of his gospel 8 tracks (not sure how many he did but it seemed like a few way back then).
I just said fuck it after I saw this boxset. A super way to check out all of his stuff in the best package possible.

Re: Elvis Presley ReMastered
I only have Elvis' Hitstory & 68' Comeback Special box sets, so this seems like an easy way to get everything in one swoop. I essentially will be paying the same price that I paid for The Beatles Stereo box set when it first came out, so I can't argue the price. The release date is a month away, so who knows, it might drop lower in price.
