Where to find "A Trip to the Moon"? (1902)

Just curious if anyone knows where I can find Melies' A Trip to the Moon? The only places I found it were in the Melies the Magician ($~25), Landmarks of Early Film Vol 1 (~$25), and The Movies Begin: A Treasury of Early Cinema, 1894-1913 (~$75). I know the other Melies shorts are great on those sets, but I've seen them in every film class I've taken and really only wanna see A Trip to the Moon again since it's been a while and it's my favorite, anyone know if there's a cheaper option out there?

Not a huge discount (you're still looking at ~$20), but it's also included as a bonus on the 1956 Around the World in 80 Days DVD set.

I think that, along with the titles you've mentioned, are the only DVDs that include it. If you want to go cheaper, you'll have to get it on VHS or find a download somewhere.

You can see a clip here: http://course1.winona.msus.edu/pjohn...ilm.htm#Méliès

Ya I noticed it on Around the World... but I have no real desire to own that movie, I'll probably just pick up one of those ~$20-25 sets, might be a good historical reference to have anyways, thanks.

Is it a sign that I'm a movie addict if I own ALL of the DVDs that include this short?

The transfer used on the Around the World in 80 Days DVD is the same one on Landmarks of Early Cinema. Melies the Magician uses a hand-colored print, I think.

Possibly my favorite music vid of all time, I'm not an overall fan of music videos because most lack any real substance, but this stands out as one of the greatest ever made imo. I remember it sweeping all the award shows for best video, such a great band.

I have this one too.

It's actually 50% off at Amazon right now:

Great collection of imaginative videos, audio commentaries, etc.

I wish THAT included A Trip to the Moon, I'd pick it up in a sec as I've always been a big Pumpkins fan.
