Fried my Xbox, what to do? Also any sales on Xbox systems?

Any suggestions, and it's out of warranty.

80 bucks to fix, plus shipping both ways.

I guess I'll buy another Xbox, but what should I do with my dead one?

Keep it for parts?

What died in it?
If it was just the cdrom drive, you might be able to sell it on ebay for parts or someone that wants to fix up a dead xbox.

You could also take out the hard drive and use it as a spare external. I assume that its a normal 3.5" hard drive in there?? I've never opened an xbox to look.

Find a brand new one before selling the old one. I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but X-boxes are really hard to find around here, and no one seems to have them.

People pay a lot of money on ebay for broken xboxes. I sold my Halo system a few months back for a whopping $166!!!!

trade it in or sell it on ebay (clearly marked in the auction as broken)

Will it power up, is it a DVD drive problem?

Yeah, I bought the holiday Xbox kit for $150 to replace my dead Xbox. Sold dead Xbox on eBay for $95 shipped, sold NCAA 2005 for $25 shipped, and have the S controller that came with new kit up there now. Basically I will almost get paid for getting a new Xbox
