No residual checks for Peter Brady???

Just watching the Surreal Life and it said that Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) does not recieve any residual checks for the re-runs. that sounds odd to me. is it possible his contract was structured differently or is the residual check thing kinda new in the industry

Back in the day, they didn't think about it in terms of syndication.

Syndication reruns were considered the scrap heap back then, at least for the actors. For the producers (or whoever owns the show), it was a different story.

I believe the standard contract for decades gave the actors $ for the first three showings of a show and that was it........

I've heard that no one on Gilligan's Island got any residuals either.

Different era, different contractual obligations.

Funny enough, it has the same producer/creator as The Brady Bunch.

I've heard that too, but from where?

Hmmm.

Oh yeah! From every interview Gilligan, Maryann and the Professor have ever done! That's why Gilligan is 75 years old and still running around in the red shirt and white cap.

Hey, the only cast member of the Honeymooners to recieve residuals was Trixie...she had a lawyer relative that told her to throw it in her contract.

I heard that Shatner used to have them for Trek but sold them because they were considered worthless.

He must have been confused, they told him his acting, not the residuals.

What a travesty. Seems like the middle child always gets the shaft...
