Kiss Movie Question.

My boss at work was talking about a movie with Kiss in it. He said they were fighting people in a park. All the members of the band wore pendents that they got power from. He has no idea what the name is, I am sure someone knows what I am talking about.

Thanks alot,
~Sam C.

It's called "Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park". Here's a link to the imdb listing:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077788/...MQ__;fc=1;ft=1

It's not available on DVD, which is a shame since it's one of the greatest bad movies ever made.

I certainly hope you don't claim to be a KISS fan, and to not know about this movie.

The DVD's may be boots, but the VHS copies might not be. This was pretty accessible on VHS in many bargain racks right before KISS reunited and put the makeup back on. Right after that, they all disappeared.

That's what gives it it's charm. This flick is the quintessential of classic cheese, and I love it.

And on top of everything that makes it so bad, it was an NBC made-for-TV movie of the week.

Yeah, but that's why I want this movie *SO* badly!!

How could you not love Gene Simmons breathing fire? Paul Stanley, the Starchild, shooting cheap rays out of his eyes. Ace Frehley, Space Ace, can teleport. And Peter Criss, the Catman, can, uh..... uh.... well, with the power to make lame cat-related puns.

Must have this movie! NOW!

Ace also has the power to turn into a black man in several scenes. Peter can change his voice completely, so it sounds like it's been dubbed in by someone else.

Ack!

It was dubbed due to the fact that Peter did not show up for the looping sessions.

I agree that this needs to be released. How awesome would a commentary be on this! (Unless Gene & Paul only did it. Then it would be both of them bashing Peter & Ace and Gene bragging constantly.) Well...maybe not such a good idea.

I had this on VHS but sold it awhile back when it was going on large amounts on Ebay. I figured it would have been released on dvd by now!

I heard Peter's voice was overdubbed because they didn't like his accent, and he couldn't act.

Mmmm...and certain chemical imbalances, let's just say.

Also, who can forget the Ace acting "double" for all of the scenes he didn't show for who you could clearly see was not him but a black dude, even through the make-up. Hysterical.

Nah, it was because he didn't show up for the looping sessions. So, at first the producers tried to just use his dialogue that was spoken on set, but much of it was so bad, they decided to just overdub him entirely. When Pete finally saw the film, he was pissed. But hey, it was his own damn fault.

Trivia note: the guy who overdubbed his voice was an experienced voice actor, who among other gigs, performed the voice of Aquaman on the Superfriends cartoons in the 70's.

I remember being so excited about seeing this movie when it first aired back in 1978. I sat down on the couch with my KISS dolls and was ready to be amazed, I was so happy. But less than a half hour into it, even my ten year old, extreme KISS fan mind realized that it was total crap.
