They're referring to making the player a full screen player -- hides the controls, image fills the screen (plus black bars if widescreen). Without buying it, you can only get the player to be as large as you can drag the corner, which ends up being about 60% of your screen.

In this case, "full screen" means exactly what Numanoid said it means: The video window takes up your entire monitor, hiding the controls and frame.

You guys are too smart.

So, a fullscreen on a widescreen is obviously good. But what about a widescreen on a fullscreen? Or a fullscreen on a fullscreen?

Anyway, I think Apple should word it different. I bet they are wording it so a person actually thinks their entire monitor (4:3) will be used when playing a video.

I don't think there is really any confusion. It is the difference between watching the video in a window or using the whole monitor. The movie trailers are still widescreen either way.

No, they really aren't. The feature does just what it advertises. Just like how windows media player "words" hitting alt + enter as a feature that....guess what...puts the player in full screen mode.

I've been accustomed to the PC wording of "fullscreen" for awhile. Most media players or what not use that phrasing opposite of running things in a window.
