Band of Brothers case sucks!

I did a search and didn't find anything, so I just wanted to vent my thoughts on this shitty design of a case...

I looks cool from the outside but that inner part, that holds the discs, blows! Especially the fact that it's glued to the back of the tin box. Anyway, just wanted to bitch about that for a few, I'm done now.

I think this case is awesome. I don't mind the massive foldout part; at least it comes from one direction instead of the Alien Quadrilogy, which unfolds both ways.

You can always do what I did: rip out the accordion fold-out, use some goo-gone to eliminate any traces of glue left on the inside of the tin, and put all your discs into 6 slimpaks which fit perfectly into the tin. Print out some custom slimpak covers and you're all set.

I agree with the poor design. Half of the discs do not stay in the holders. I'm tempted to do what you did, joliom.

I bought the BOB set from Blockbuster PPV, so I never got the case. Oh well.

It does indeed suck. I got mine off the internet, and when it came two or three of the holders had already broken, so the discs don't stay in. Frustrating.

I don't have any webspace I can host pics from right now. The procedure is simple, but requires a lot of elbow grease. Basically, you just rip out the fold-out which leaves three strips of glue on the bottom of the tin. Unfortunately, it's a really thick gummy type of glue that doesn't rub off easily. One way around this problem is to rip out the fold-out and bottom-most plastic disc holder, but leave the sheet of paper beneath it. That way you don't have to hassle with the three strips of glue at all. But if you're like me, and insist on perfection, then rip it all out and go to work on the glue. The biggest problem with the glue, besides the fact that it's thick and gummy and doesn't rub off easily, is that one of the strips runs along the side making it a lot harder to work on (difficult to get a good angle on). The only way to get it completely is to disessemble the tin. This is not as tricky as it might seem, and should not damage the case. The hinges are held in place by two little metal rods - push them out with your fingernail and the case comes right apart. Then just get your bottle of Goo Gone or lighter fluid and a rag, and start rubbing. After some good effort, you should have all traces of the glue and sticky residue removed. Then just reessemble the tin. Put the discs into 6 Thinpak cases (with high res custom cover print-outs) and voila! - no more crappy paper fold-out case falling to pieces with each repeat handling.

I think it is a beautiful case. My only gripe is it being glued to the inside of the case. Should've been removable.

Sorry if the pics kinda suck - those were my first attempt at 3-D previews. The covers were designed by another artist and I just modified the spines to be for Thinpak cases. The only problem is that I just noticed a bunch of typos that need to be corrected. I'm working on that right now. And thanks again, Third Baseman, for hosting them.
