DVD Talk review of 'Farscape: Season 1 Collection 1 - Starburst Edition'
I read Holly E. Ordway's DVD review of Farscape: Season 1 Collection 1 - Starburst Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=13904 and...
Are you sure there's a commentary for PK Tech Girl on this set? My copy has a commentary listed on the insert, but it doesn't actually appear on the disc. I was disappointed at that since I was really looking forward to hearing it.
Great review, by the way. I also recommend this set to anyone with even a little interest in sci-fi.

I would love to watch this show, but the box sets are too damn expensive. This seems to be more reasonable (at around $25 for 1/3 of the season, that would equal $75 for the whole season, compared to the current $114 pricing for the box sets). I wonder if they'll offer these in season sets as they continue the releases? Also, I hope these releases drive the price down on the older sets, then I can buy them.

Yeah, but you won't get the spiffy boxes to keep 'em in.
Actually, my main concern with this new set was the picture quality. Since they're jamming more content on each disc, I wonder if it suffers in comparison..

For people wanting to buy the old box sets when the price drops, remember that the new Starburst editions have new bonus features. I think there are some new commentaries on each set along with documentaries. I don't know exactly what's new since I don't have the old sets.

Brilk, thanks for the heads-up about the commentary track for "PK Tech Girl." You're right, it's not there. I've edited the review accordingly.
I don't think we need to worry about the transfer quality suffering on the Starburst editions. Two or at most three 45-minute episodes per side is not that much at all (pretty typical of most TV shows on DVD anyway), and I certainly didn't notice any compression artifacts.
