I was really bored tonight, and dug up this software that will let you morph one picture into another. I thought it would be fun to see what people come up with. You can download a trial version here: http://www.fantamorph.com.
I'll get started with this obvious one:

Plus, it is fun to see what the in between picture looks like: Bono?

It's interesting how many of the famous faces seemingly have much in common. Aren't there studies that show that if you get a group of so called "attractive people" together and carefully measure their facial features the measurements are almost the same? It's like our minds are born with certain traits already tagged as "attractive" even before we figure it out for ourselves.

As you can see, the eyes/nose/mouth/chin/brow match up well, but unless you can find two pics with similar hairstyles, it won't look smooth... that's about as smooth as I could get the hair to look. Those jagged, straight lines really interrupt the flow; I may have to take individual frames into photoshop to soften them...

I'd say don't worry about connecting all of the hair, just let that dissolve normally. But connect the ears, or at least where the ears would be under the hair. That will help with the jagged lines. And slow it down a bit.

You agreed with him! Sniff sniff.. Anyway, it's ok. Seriously, first I had to find Superman pictures of as close to matching as I could find (I did that for the other thread). Then I had to download and install the program. I used mspaint to resize the pictures so the heads were about the same size, sometimes horizontal flipping them as well. Then I pasted the smaller picture over the bigger one in Photoshop Elements and cropped out the excess. Then I put them into the program, looked at someones post here to see what settings to use (except I still didn't know what format, I figured animated gif was smallest), and saved it. Then I looked through the thread to find an appropriate hosting site (I don't think imageshack does animated stuff?), uploaded each pic one by one, editing my post and inserting a link each time. Honestly, I give up. Please someone if you can do better, go ahead.

(Pats marioxb on the back) Buck up there, little camper. It'll be......ok. ;)
Actually, instead of resizing the pics in paint, I believe you can do that all within the morph software, including overlaying the pics so they'll match up. Then it's just a matter of doing all the morph points. That's the time-consuming part...and I dare say, the part you seem to have skipped. :)
marioxb
02-05-05, 09:41 AM
I mean I couldn't figure out how to move the pictures around so things lined up better. Is there a way to do that in the morph program itself or do you have to use a different program to do that first? Really, I don't care what you guys think. I'm not upset, I just don't want to fix them.

You have to set morph points in the photos. Move them around so the key features match up. Eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Thats how you get the morph to move smoothly from one photo to the other.
