Troy Best Buy Bonus Disc

Anybody have the details on the contents of this disc? I'd really like to know if it's worth getting. Thanks in advance for any help.

it's $14.99 at Circuit City but you could always Price Match.

Its in the weekly store ad what is on the disc. I remeber interviews, featurettes, and some other stuff. Seemed like a lot for just a bonus disc.

Right, I did that with Open Water last week. Saved a buck, got Rewards, got the bonus disc. Looks like the same thing for Troy on Tuesday.

The BB ad makes it sound like there are commentaries that ARE NOT on the actual Troy DVD - there are ZERO commentary tracks on Troy! - though I'm not sure how that works or WTF it's not on the disc in the first place.

I saw that too. Not quite sure what kind of commentaries are on the bonus disc.

[Phat Rant]This exclusive content stuff is starting to piss me off as DVD was created for the hard core movie fanatic. Commentaries and such should be standard on DVD releases. They shouldn't be an exclusive for whoever pays for them. This just stinks

Note: I buy most of my DVDs from BB anyway but I can imagine for some who enjoy a movie, they would want everythng available. If a BB isn't in the area you have to resort to ebay ripoffs.[/Phat Rant]

I agree. I do not have a Best Buy near me, and getting a DVD with just a few bonus features is disappointing. They could have easily added all of these features to disc 2 of the national release.

I do not know if I'm getting this one... I really love the limited edition that was release in the Philippines and Japan (the box looks cool!).

Now, only if I know someone who lives there...

I rarely buy DVDs from BB, but one of the last ones I got with a bonus disc included it inside the case. If that is standard procedure, can't people without store access get the bonus disc by ordering from bestbuy.com?

This was the case with Spiderman 2 release. I don't know if it pertains to all of their bonus discs.

sometimes they are in the actual case (e.g. Master & Commander, Spider-Man 2) while other times they are shrinkwrapped in a cardboard or plastic sleeve to the back (e.g. Anchorman, Eurotrip, Indiana Jones Trilogy).

Plus, not all of their sets have the bonus disc in them. If you order online, you're not guaranteed of getting a set with the bonus disc. You're not even guaranteed in-store, you have to look and make sure it's in there before you buy it.

Would BB refuse to PM since no other retailers sell this title with the same bonus disc?

I'm sure that could happen but it worked for me last week with Open Water.

i think that happened at a few location with the Indy disc, but since it hasn't been a problem....I never get any trouble with it....only time this becomes an issue is if it has a totally diffrent package or upc...like in the case of the the bonus cd with shrek 2 at wal mart....they wouldn't price match it because it was a diffrent upc and they had the dvd only version available....can't hurt to try

BTW, this bonus disc is not in the case, it's just in a cardboard sleeve shrinkwrapped to the front of the DVD. It didn't seem like they had a ton at mine. Had to dig around a bit to find one with the bonus disc.

Did it have "commentaries" as advertised on it?

Can't say, I'm at work now and the slip case doesn't say what's on the disc.

If these "commentaries" are anything like the "commentaries" promised on the Time Machine Bonus Disc a couple of years ago, it'll just be a fluff interview about the movie.
