Nope.
Caught up in serious money and legal troubles. Baldwin has washed his hands of it.
I doubt you'll ever see it. There was an exhibitor trailer released a couple years back, but that was the only glimpse of it.

Yeah, I remember seeing the trailer and thinking it wasn't half bad. You'd think SOMEONE would buy the rights to this thing and give it at least a DVD release. Not sure if the film was ever finished, though.
This is from Yahoo.com:
This note was dated Nov. 2003 - and that was the last update concerning the film.
This is from Yahoo.com:
According to the WENN news service, this movie is currently being held back by federal authorities because of a fraud investigation involving some of the financial parties involved with the movie (possibly involving bounced checks, etc.).

I saw this on Starz Comedy and it is called Shortcut To Happiness.
It is also availabe on Directv on Demand.
the movie was not that bad unless you were excepting a good comedy.
it would have been a better drama but Jennifer Love Hewitt is miscast as the devil.

I saw this too the other day and thought it was hilarious that they change the name, but that's the only fun the thing the movie has.

By the way imdb answers why the title was changed:
# Filming was completed in 2001 but the movie has been shelved for several years due to lack of funds to complete post-production. However, My Own Worst Enemy Productions acquired the rights to the title and is set to release it in 2007.
# Long known as "The Devil & Daniel Webster" the films title was changed to "Shortcut to Happiness" after being acquired by Bob Yari productions.
# According to Alec Baldwin, the film was extensively re-edited after it came into the possession of Bob Yari Productions, and no longer bears any resemblance to its original form or to the Benet short story, hence the title change. Baldwin has since requested that his name be removed from the credits as director and producer.

I remember in one of the pre-cancellation episodes of Family Guy Jennifer Love Hewitt is listing off some of her film roles and mentions this movie. I'm sure they figured it would be out by the time the episode aired.

Added it to my Netflix Instant Queue.
I find Alec Baldwin is becoming one of my favorite actors. I've never dislike him in anything and he often goes with an interesting role, rather than a big one:
His one scene is Glengarry Glen Ross
The Narrator for The Royal Tenenbaums
Supporting parts in two Scorsese films (The Aviator and The Departed)
Leonardo Leonardo in the animated Clerks
Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock
And he even had enough good stuff from hosting SNL to warrant a 'best of' episode/DVD

I'm sure Baldwin doesn't harbor too many bad feelings over this film. He got to nail JLH as a result.

So for those who have seen it, do the credits list it as an Alan Smithee movie or is Baldwin's name still listed as Director?

I watched this last night on Netflix.
It's bloody awful. I mean, REALLY bad. I totally understand why Baldwin took his name off the project and especially this cut of the movie. The film is an asbolute mess. Like, TV-movie bad.
Oh, and the director is listed as "Harry Kirkpatrick".
