Retro Game Challenge #21 (12/19-12/26)

Week 21 is over!
The Rules:
To enter, you just play one of the games and post a screenshot (F12 key in MAME) with your score.
The deadline to post your high scores will be Sunday 9:00 PM Eastern US time.
When you post a high score, pick a new game to play by the deadline. The sooner the better.
The game should be at least 10 years old and one we haven't played before.
Any scores you submit should be played during the week of the contest using no continues or any features of the emulator that you wouldn't get by playing the actual machine.
So far we have only been using MAME (http://www.mame.net/downports.html) to play the games, but that can change, if the winner so chooses.
I am going to host the current ROMs and list of all the past winners and high scores here. (http://dvdtalk.home.comcast.net)

The Prize:
Whoever gets the high score for one of the games picks the next game that replaces it, so we should always have 3 to choose from. You also get your name <s>engraved</s> permanently etched onto this eye catching trophy with a genuine Sharpie!

And I KNOW I can't touch that Donkey Kong score. I always have trouble on Level 3 - 75km, the one with the bouncing springs. I can never make it up the top ladder without getting hit :mad:

I would've picked the Japanese version of Donkey Kong. It doesn't make you play the first level over and over.

You like!!! :) That's what I get for saving to a jpg from png using M$ Paint instead of converting using Fireworks.

:lol: Go ahead. The devilshalo rule isn't real. You can beat your own score 20 times in a row if you want, I just don't think it's very competetive.

I've beaten your Donkey Kong score... while practicing that damn spring level with savestates! I'm giving up on it for now. Can't do it while I'm playing a real game. So frustrating!

I'm still waiting for someone to post a new Bump 'n' Jump score... :D

I like the first level, up until Kong starts throwin' the crazy barrels. I get up as fast as I can and get the hammer! Then it's hammer time.

Pie factory gives me problems when the damn fireballs never get up to the top.

I may not have access for the rest of the weekend, so in case I don't and my scores aren't beaten I choose Pengo and Jump Bug.

I don't see the point of skipping New Year's week if we didn't skip Christmas week. If nobody beats your Donkey Kong score and you don't pick a game then I'll just have to pick one for you and owe you a choice later on , I guess.

If devilshalo doesn't show up to make a choice today, I'll choose Tapper. The other option would be to just continue Donkey Kong for another week. I'm kind of curious how that would go over as a new rule, if someone doesn't choose a new game before the deadline we give everyone another week to try and beat their score.
