Any word on when Albert Brooks' "Modern Romance" will be released on dvd?

Modern Romance is my personal favorite Albert Brooks movie and is one of the last films to not have a dvd treatment. Has anyone heard anything about this film finally being released on dvd?

This movie has been a favorite of mine since I saw it back in 1982 on The Movie Channel as part of a Valentine's Day double feature (paired with "My Bloody Valentine"!). I'd love to see this one on DVD soon so I can retire my VHS copy.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one looking forward to a dvd release of this film. It amazes me that this film is one of the only Brooks efforts that has not been given any dvd treatment. Your lucky that you have a vhs copy, I have to wait and see it when its on cable every once and a while.

It just played about a month ago or so on Encore's Love Stories channel and the Sundance Channel.

I watching tv the other day and Modern Romance came on, I watched it even though I own it on VHS. What a great film. I really hope that they release this soon on dvd. Next year will be its 25th anniversary. Albert Brooks definitely is under rated in my opinion.

Well said, I love everyone of his films, especially the massively underrated Mother.

One of my last remaining VHS tapes that I need to retire, and the only Brooks movie not on DVD yet, dammit!

The scene where they dub in "Hulk running" for George Kennedy's footsteps is one of the single funniest moments I've ever seen.

Very funny scene. I like the scene where Albert takes the Quaalude that Bruno gives him and starts calling people from his rolodex to tell them that he loves them.

Albert Brooks held out a very long time from taking the money ... unfortunately 'The In Laws' changed all that.

"You saved the picture."

Great movie and a good case study for co-dependent relationships. And don't forget the lovely Kathryn Harrold.

Does anyone know what company owns the rights to Modern Romance?
If this ever gets put out a great extra would be those short films Albert Brooks made for SNL.

According to IMdb, it was both produced and distributed theatrically (in the US) by Columbia Pictures Corp, so Sony Entertainment should have the DVD rights.

I am glad to know that there are many others out there that love this film as well. Every other Brooks film is already on dvd, right?

Come On Sony get off your asses and release this film on dvd already.
