DVI vs. HDMI

Hello,

I have a Mits WS-65813. It has a DVI input as well as component. Rumor has it there may be an HDMI module as well.

Does anyone think there would be a noticeable difference going from Component to DVI? What about HDMI?

I'm looking at getting a Denon 2910 which has both DVI and HDMI out but I have no idea if that would make much of a difference.

Thanks

It will make little to no difference in PQ on a CRT based RPTV. However certain players will only allow upconversion from 480p to 1080i through the use of these digital connections and that will change PQ. For better or worse I'll let you decide.

Thanks for the response. On my old DVD player I would play back at 480P - this one says it is 780p through DVI. will that only format correctly for plasma?

Usually these up converting players have modes for 720p, 1080i, and sometimes 540p or 1080p. It would be odd if it only did 720p.
