Emir Kusturica's Life Is a Miracle DVD
Life is a Miracle is up for pre-order at France Amazon. Does anyone know if this DVD will have English subtitles? And does anyone know of any other recent DVD release of this movie?
I know that there is a Russian DVD release of this flick that just came out. They say that there aren't any English subtitles and it has only a Russian audio track. But a lot of times, Russian DVD covers lie and may actually be anamorphic, have original audio, have English subtitles, etc....Does anyone have this DVD release yet?

a few days ago I watched for the 7th time "black cat, white cat" and I was wondering: the upcoming release of "life is a miracle" could be the right time to release some other title too, now I have read your post and I am ... happy!!!
as for subs I'll be glad if they are not enforced, just like other Kusturica's french releases.

Why no English subs????????? I think France and Emir have a problem with USA/England. Does anyone know the story on DVD rights with Emir Kusturica? Since New York Video got the rights and made the Region 1 DVD of UNDERGROUND, how come New York Video isn't making Region 1 DVDs of Kusturica's other films?
Does anyone have a feeling then that LIFE IS A MIRACLE and TIME OF THE GYPSIES will be eventually released on Australian Region 4 PAL DVD with English subs, as was done with UNDERGROUND and BLACK CAT WHITE CAT?

I agree, I think the USA should invade France and kick in Emir's door.
All Emir's films are available in the UK and USA in some form (at some time) and it's the lazy distributors to blame. I'm sure Emir and his copyright holders would love their product to get a wider audience.
Hopefully it'll appear in Australia soon.
