Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see any sale prices there. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the thread, but those prices seem bad.. (Hoping I can do better than $20 with Mary Poppins for one!).

Really? I remember paying $30 for FOTR:EE and $27 for TTT:EE so $23 is a huge bargain for B&M, IMO. I haven't done the research (pre-ordered at B&N using 10-off-25) but I'm sure BB is lower than anywhere on-line, at least right now. I'd be (happily) surprised if anyone beats $23.

Thanks for the early prices. Probably just Collateral for me.

I've got ROTK coming from B&N.com but I'll be getting Top Gun with the bonus disc, Mary Poppins, Collateral, Princess Diaries 2 & Meet The Parents. I'm hoping CC & Target have some better prices on some to do some pricematching with.

Not too bad for ROTK EE. Still unsure if I want the gift set, or just the regular edition. Don't know if the stash box and extra DVD are worth an extra $27.

I was sort of hoping they'd have some kind of "Get $XX off when you buy 2 Star Trek TOS sets, or $YY off when you buy all three." But I don't believe they've run one of those on TV shows in quite some time.

I think both FORT and TTT EE's were priced at $25...I remember pricematching to 23.99 from FRY's ad. This lower price is an added bonus (of course I was expecting Top Gun to be 12.99...)

Here's what I have paid for the trilogy movies so far:

Theatrical Editions (All bought when ROTK came out)"
FOTR: $15.99
TTT: $15.99
ROTK: $13.99

Extended Editions:
FOTR: $19.99 (The Target ad, June 2003)
TTT: $23.99 (Fry's Ad, release week)

It would be nice if someone beats BB here, but $22.99 is fine. I just hope that Fry's goes 3 for 3 with the Star Trek pricing, and puts it in their ad on Wednesday for $79.99.

Family Guy Seasons 1&2---$39.99??? Just came home from Worst Buy and the regular price is $40.99!! WOW! BIG savings of $1.

Of course you could buy it at $40.99 and then price match it with Target's ad(this week only) at $22.99; take an additional 10% off the difference($1.80) and get it for $21.19+ tax

Yeah, the ROTK price is cheaper then the typical release week prices for FOTR and TTT. Barring any loopholes or particulars, they were generally 24.99+ at release. Hopefully my Coconuts order works out though.

I don't think you can use a coupon when you pick up an online order, even if it is an already released item.

Well as someone else said you can't pre-order/choose in store pickup. You also can't have an item labled for in-store pickup and then when you go pick it up, use a coupon/gift card whatever since the item is considered already paid for.

I think that $14.99 is their regular price since it has an MSRP of $19.95. I was hoping for a $12.99 or $11.99 price.

The main reason that I would buy it at Best Buy is cuz of the bonus disc.

Borders B&M will probably sell this normally for $14.99. Use one of the frequent 20% coupons to get it for $11.99. You might even find a (less frequent) 25% coupon and get it for $11.24 :)

Does anyone know if Star Trek: The Original Series Season 3 has a Best Buy exclusive bonus DVD like the last 2 seasons had? There is no mention of it except "7 DVDs + Bonus" in a little circle. The previous times they had a blurb about the contents of the bonus DVD. Does anyone know what it has? The last 2 were pretty weak (12 minutes and 17 minutes total length). Is there a 3-pack (all 3 seasons together) with any different bonus DVDs?

Without the Bonus DVD, there's no reason to buy it from BBY (assuming I can successfully use the 20% off Madden coupon).

The search function still sucks eggs, can't find the "lowest price on A Christmas Story" thread/post that I could have sworn I saw recently in here, not sure this post even belongs in this thread, as it's not in the ad but instead online....anyway, the new release of ACS is part of this 2-for-$35 deal:

Probably not the best deal, but maybe better than nothing....

I'm looking at circular and it lists ROTK EE as "low price" or whatever, there is no mention of 22.99 that is for the FOTR set. So it would be great but i think it will be 24.99 just like CC and target.

Not bad to use with a Madden 20% coupon.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I used the Madden coupon today, and I had 4 dvds. The coupon took 20% off all of them. Wish I had taken more, but it did say Limit 3 dvds.

Featurette for Top Gun is 23 minutes I believe.

Watch out! My BB didn't have ANY widescreen out and only SOME come with the bonus 3rd disc. Not all! In fact, most did not. They had to dig through stock to find just one with the bonus disc that was widescreen.

My god was it a madhouse in there today.

Since we're discussing the Madden coupon here, I figure it won't hurt to repeat what I asked in the old Madden coupon thread...

Is the Madden 20% off coupon supposed to expire out of BBY's computer system on 3/6/05 or 12/31/04? I've heard both dates mentioned, so I'm not sure which is right. I didn't even think to look for more Madden coupons while I was at BBY today as I never figured they'd put out more because the 20% discount is so nice and the clerks usually look at me like I'm a devil for using them, even though so far they've never stopped me!

I was under the impression the coupons expired at the end of this year, but if they last until next March then I will run out soon and I will be very depressed. :-( I'll have to go back to Amazon and STL.

Dabaomb
12-15-04, 12:03 AM
Manzana,

I'm pretty sure that they'll expire on 12/31/04 like all the other coupons in the Madden Book but I'm not 100% positive. There's a chance that they'll still work after 12/31/04.

This week I used my last coupon and it took 20% off all 4.

Manzana

I never even thought to try that. Actually I bought 6 DVDs on Tuesday, so I used 1 Madden coupon on each group of 3 in 2 separate transactions to avoid causing any problems and alerting a manager who I feared might deny the coupon. So it looks like I wasted a Madden coupon for nothing. :-( I don't think there are any more upcoming release days with more than 3 titles I want.

If I knew for sure if the Madden coupons expire on 12/31/04 instead of 3/6/05 (what the back of the coupon was supposed to say) then it won't matter that I wasted 1 because I have enough to last through the end of December, but then I'm out.

Someone had posted in one of the threads that there were some more Madden coupons at his BBY, but I looked around and asked the people there who said if they had seen them they would've taken them for themselves. I wonder if employees get to use the coupon in addition to their discount...
