Does this season have a paper insert on the back of the case like season 1? Or do you have to cut the box for the rebate?

yup. I looked at the rebate form and it says "12/3/04 - 12/8/04." In the past, the rebates have gone through Saturday but not this time.
Mine was shrinkwrapped with some gift wrap paper. So in addition to the regular UPC, there was a sticker UPC with the code "51" on top of the regular UPC. That doesn't matter though since I use the UPC Price Sticker when I mail in the rebate.
This was a good deal for those who didn't get in on the Costco deal.
