Jet Li 's best films from asia ?

After seeing Jet Li in Hero, and previously in lethal weapon 4, I would like to hear any of your reccomendations on the best of his earlier martial arts pictures done in asia. The man is very fast and certainly reminds me of legend Bruce Lee, and I would like to see more.
thanks,
smurr

what Kant said... Fist of Legend and Tai Chi Master are great. Also check out Kung Fu Cult Master, Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2, Black Mask, and Hero. A must buy is the Once Upon a Time in China trilogy. With the exception of Hero, the best editions available are region free, so no worries about having the right dvd player.

more votes for:

Tai Chi Master
Bodyguard from Beijing
Fong Sai Yuk 1 and 2 (great movies)
Once Upon A Time In China

yea and like an above poster mentioned, stay away from a lot of these that have been renamed and dubbed for R1 release (Dimension studios?).

Fist of Legend is THE best Jet Li movie.

Also The Enforcer (My Father is a Hero) is excellent, as well as The Defender and Twin Warriors.

You are correct. All of the Jet Li Dimension DVDs are dubbed and edited since I made the mistake of purchasing some of them.

I'll chime in a vote for Fong Sai Yuk I & I, and Once upon a Time in China. I've enjoyed most of his Hong Kong films. As others have said, skip the Dimension disc. Import them from a good supplier (dddhouse is my favorite, and there are many other good stores). They end up being fairly cheap.
