Motorcycle Diaries - February 15

It seems like R1 will get Motorcycle Diaries a week after R2 released by Universal.

Via DVDTIMES:

Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Motorcycle Diaries for 15th February 2005 priced at $29.98 SRP. Director Walter Salles film is based on the journals of Che Guevara, leader of the Cuban Revolution who recounts the adventures he and best friend Alberto Granado had while crossing South America on motorcycle in the early fifties.

Available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen editions, audio features include the original Spanish 5.1, optional French 5.1 and subtitles in English and French. Bonus features are TBA.

¡Magnífico!

Just in time for my brother's birthday on the 16th. We saw this in downtown Chicago together. He couldn't get it out of his head for days.

I thought this was a great flick. Any word on if it will have and special features or if it's a barebones?

I'm sure it was so that they could spray the cover with "nominated for ____ oscars!"-type quotes.

It can't get nominated for Best Foreign Film, so let's see how well it does in the heavyweight categories...
