Julia Roberts gives birth to twins

Surprising that there's no thread about this.

The names are Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder. She'd better save some money for karate lessons for a kid with a name like that.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movi...ins/index.html
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Actress Julia Roberts gave birth to twins Sunday morning, her publicist told CNN.

Roberts, who is married to cinematographer Daniel Moder, delivered Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder at a hospital in Southern California, said Marcy Engleman.

"Mother and babies are doing great," she said.

Roberts, 37, married Moder two years ago.

Roberts was born in Smyrna, Georgia, and attained fame in 1990 for her portrayal of a prostitute in the sentimental romantic comedy "Pretty Woman."

Ten years later, she won the Academy Award for best actress and a Golden Globe for best actress in a drama for her work in "Erin Brockovich."

Man, are those kids in for a beating in the parking lot after school once they are old enough. Take it from one who knows.

The local radio station was having fun with this one - asking callers to list other famous (and not-so-famous) Phineas' that might have served as Julia's inspiration. Among the highlights:

Phineas Gage - The famous medical patient who had a rod fired into his head in a freak railroad accident in the 1840's

Phineas (Finny) - A character in John Knowles' novel "A Separate Peace"

Phineas Fogg - Around the World in 80 Days, of course

Phineas Taylor Barnum - Circus showman P.T. Barnum, to most

Uncle Phineas - The Three Stooges' Shemp's rich uncle

Phineas J. Whoopie - Inventor on Tennessee Tuxedo cartoon, complete with 3-D BB

So which twin got her "flared nostril" face and which twin got her "toothless upper palate" grin?

I mean, it's not like she has any other facial expressions to pass on through her DNA.

If this will keep extra-large mouth out of movies for a while, I'm all for it.

I wonder if the twins will wind up great actors, or if they'll inherit their acting skills from their mom instead.

Why do famous people insist on giving their kids fucked up names?

Um, the main character in "Around the World in 80 Days" was Phileas Fogg, of course.

I just checked...you're right. Man, I've had that wrong for years. Good catch, CG! I actually learn something new every day on these boards.

No they're not. They'll be in the same classes as all the other famous people's kids and they all have weird names, too. They'll all think it's normal. Lord have mercy on anyone named Chris, John, or Joe.
