The Warriors 25th Anniversary Edition?
Has anyone heard anything about a new version of The Warriors to commemerate the film's 25th anniversary? The current one is bare-boned and just waiting for an upgrade.

I saw a thread about this a few weeks ago, but since searching this site is useless, you probably won't find it.
It was mentioned that Walter Hill had just recorded a commentary track for the new upcoming se in 2005. So it appears to be coming.

It mentions he was interviewed for the upcoming se, whether it was just an interview or commentary, who knows. Here's the thread link: Warriors SE 2005 rumor

Ooooh Maaaan!
Anybody who knows my track record here knows that I've been dying for a SE of one of my most favorite movies ever. I even laid down my wish list for it's special features in this thread:

This was one of the first DVDs I ever bought, and I'd gladly double-dip for a new version.
By the way, some of you Warriors fans may enjoy seeing pics from this year's Warriors Halloween party in Brooklyn, where people dressed up as their own made-up gangs.

A Warriors SE? I can definitely dig it. I don't know about the remake though. Tony Scott directing? I'd say that's as good a death warrant as if Freddie Prinze Jr. was starring as Swan. He's way wrong for a movie like this. David Fincher would have been my choice.

I'm not much interested in a remake. The first time I ever saw this movie was as the second feature at a drive-in so I've been a fan for a loooooong time. I haven't done any looking around for a better DVD version, have any other regions gotten a better one to date?
