2005 Music Anticipation Thread

With the new year coming, I'm really anticipating all the new CDs that will be released! Somehow this year has been a bit lackluster, but 2005 looks like it'll start with a bang

Some of the ones I'm looking forward to:

The Chemical Brothers - Push the Button (Jan. 25th)
Tori Amos - The Beekeeper (Feb. 22nd)
Nine Inch Nails - Bleed Through
Garbage - Hands on a Hard Body
System of a Down - Hypnotize/Mesmerize
Billy Corgan - ???
Jimmy Chamberlain Complex - ???
Weezer - ???
Fountains of Wayne - ???
Beck - ???
Sigur Ros - ???
Faye Wong - ???
The Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics

Even though I've never been much of a Low fan, I listened to The Great Destroyer yesterday and it was pretty good. LCD Soundsystem, the Juan Maclean (?), Delia & Gavin (?), and Liquid Liquid (?!?!) might all have albums in 2005.

for what its worth, the new NIN cd (due in march) is no longer called BleedThrough. i think theres another thread about it somewhere in the forum. the tracks that were to be BleedThrough were either retooled or scraped altogether and the title has been changed and is TBA.

that disc tops my list, along with the new Tool, QOTSA, Street Dogs, Foo Fighters, Transplants (although my hopes aren't too high), Ramallah, Maxeen...

I've heard Doves has a new album coming out in 2005. If that turns out to be true, it's definitely the most anticipated one I know of.

dang-it! Doves was the first band that came to mind as to their next album. It most definately is coming out next year, since Doves only shows this year are at the end of December in London (a precursor and sneak peak at new material).

another Super Furry Animals album is promised and I of course can't wait!

Also

LCD Soundsystem
Brett Anderson/Bernard Butler

Looking good.

I think Dave Matthews Band will have a new album out as they were playing 4 or 5 new songs on their summer tour this year.

Pearl Jam should come out with something late in the year as well.

Rumours have it that Beck's new album is harder-edged/guitar based (Jack White's also contributing to it)

For one of my anticipated 2005 releases:
Stephen Malkmus

Yep my man.

Should be a double album with one acoustic cd , one really hard cd, together. And from what Ive heard, it wont be just acousic versions of the hard album thats with it. I think there going to be different songs.

very good idea. Should really rock.
