New South Park 11/17

Episode 811: Quest for Ratings

The boys of “South Park” produce their own morning news show on the school’s closed-circuit television station and are immediately caught up in the intense competition for ratings.

Spoiler:
Cartman and Jimmy anchor "Super School News" bringing all the latest from South Park Elementary to their audience of four viewers. When the show faces cancellation, the boys refuse to give up. Committed to restructuring the program to attract viewers, Cartman will try anything to hook an audience.

Hmm, i wonder if they will target Dan Rather and CBS.

I can picture Cartman going cutthroat for ratings.

Interview the babbling, cat-throwing woman! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at any TV show.

Kyle's hair

"One testicle, what an asshole"

Craig getting suspended for low ratings was great.

I was actually expecting Cartman to produce "forged documents" for the cough syrup segment.

So, was this episode a not-so-subtle way for Matt and Trey to tell us that they are out of ideas for the show? ("Bail?" "Bail.")

Sounds like this will be the last season...

This is precisely what I was thinking.

Maybe it's time to go out while they are still penning funny eps.

I disagree, I thought it was great.

I LOVED the cough syrup trip with all the live-action footage and stuff.

No, it was just their way of getting people to think that.

Wasn't particularly funny, but was still interesting to watch. Enjoyed a few things here and there, like the mentioning of trying to come up with ideas. Watching the animals got really annoying.

Cute.

Super cute.

It was odd to see Cartman cooperating with everyone and not out for himself only. I loved how he made Token change his voice to that phony anchor voice. It's funny cuz it's true!

"It's animals,.... with a wide-angle lens!"

I was getting a bit tired of the Benny Hill theme though.

Oddly, I found myself chuckling every time the music came on. It was just SO LAME as a show, I just had to laugh.

The crab people references were hilarious.

However, this was a slightly rehashed idea from season 2's "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka". Though I have no doubt that this is how MY local news comes up with stories (especially FOX).
