philips 642 subtitle problem
on two seperate occassions i have lost subtitles on this player.
where the subs are, white lines fill the screen, and then a minute later it will go back normal. Audio plays fine.
Happens only once per movie.
1st time on Tae Guk Gi (korean edition)
then again on Night Watch (PAL)
I had this player for about 6 months on s-video and it worked fine
Switched to component & turned progressive scan on and this problem started. (but I was able to watch a few other subbed movies with no issues)
As anyone else have this issue? searched around on google but didnt find anything
thanks

Ive had yellow lines show up on my screen. It happens very seldom though and lasts for about 10 seconds. I cant tell that it matters what region the disc is, it happens on R1 discs too....but it rarely happens, so I havent bothered trying to find a fix for it.
As far as subtitles go, Ive noticed that if Im watching a movie and turn the subtitles on for a short bit and then turn them back off, that whenever there is writing in the movie (not subs, but like a sign or something in the movie) that Spanish subtitles will come on for just that message. Why is that?
