xbox live newb questions
maybe I'm alone here but I'm just now coming over from pc clan gaming so I've a few questions about xbox live. ..
1. is there a quick way to add all of our dvdtalk people? or am I going to have to techno TV type out all of your guys?
2. how can I join the game my "friend" is in?
I'm sure more will come up with time
3. Is there any way me and my son can both go online and play at the same time? we're messing with Jedi Knight now and can find no appearant way to do this

1. dunno
2. Depends on the game... usually you can invite if they're a friend or you know their tag
3. Only on certain games can you do online splitscreen with one Live account. These include MechAssault, Crimson Skies, Halo 2 (I think) and maybe others...

I'm pretty sure you have to go through and type in each name. The one shortcut might be if you join the caln, their names will appear and you can go through and send each of us a friend invite through the HALO 2 LIVE menus.
A "friend" will show up on your friends list in the XBOX LIVE menu of whatever game you're playing. It will tell if they're online and what game they are playing. If you're both in the same game you can invite them to join you or you join their game (if space is available).
Like the previous poster stated, it depends on the game. Not all games allow split screen.

1. I think the only way is to type them all in
2. In a lot of games, there is a join button in the friends list if you have the same game in. If a friend invites you to a game the XBOX will tell you to change out discs, and then automatically join the game your friend is in
3. dunno

on some of the games i think there is a list of recent players or something like that where you can send a friend invite from. so the best way would be to play a game with lots of dvdtalkers and then send friend invites from that list. once they accept your request, no typing. otherwise, you have to manually type in the gamertag.
it's been a while since i hopped onto xbox live. when i finally get halo2, i'll be on regularly
