Ques regarding Driving Wheel for Xbox...recomendations wanted...

I would like to get a Driving Wheel for the Xbox and saw that BJs has a Cobra TT Universal one for $39.99, There is one on sale at Toys R Us for the same price that I think is the Intec and then there are a whole bunch of others:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categorie...o=3&nooftens=1

I'm not looking to spend too much, just a good deal for a couple of games.

My Questions:

1. Can the wheels be used with just about all of the driving games? (i.e. Project Gotham, GT, etc.)
2. Any recommendations on a low budget wheel?

Thanks yet again for the advice!

afaik, you can use any of the xbox wheels b/c it just replicates the gamepad... and therein lies the rub. the wheels aren't very good b/c MS, being shortsighted, didn't put the wheel API into their dev packs. who knew that the xbox would be the best racing console?

w/ the release of Forza, there was supposed to be a concurrent release of a steering wheel - i believe from thrustmaster - but, again, afaik, this has been shelved. (i think you can get the thrustmaster in europe)

still, w/out Force Feedback, not sure if it will be worth it.

One thing you may want to consider is that using a wheel while sitting on a couch or in a la-z-boy sucks.

I use a wheel on my PC that mounts to my desk and it works great. Whenever I have tried a console wheel it gets uncomfortable.

YMMV.

that is good know, thanks. I think that we may need to have a small table of desk for him (my nephew) to use for the stability.

I went through this a year ago and bought a wheel. The problem is that all the wheels on XBox suck.

I would strongly advise you NOT to buy any of the wheels on the market. They don't work well, and make the games less fun.

On the PS2 on the other hand, there are some AWESOME wheels which really add to the fun on Gran Turismo, etc.
