XBOX live headset- suckekekekekeke

I got this two days ago and it is a joke how cheap the headset is.

Is anyone happy with this thing?

I am thinking of taking it back and buying an aftermarket one.

Do you get use to it or do most of you agree and if so which one are you using?

I never had a problem with it. It's not the most comfortable, but it's servicable and you do get used to the behind the head headset. Besides, most, if not all aftermarket headsets (including the hands free Nyko model and the $50 Halo 2 one) require the black adaptor that comes with the standard controller.
Normally I now use the Platronic MX-150 cell phone headset I got for $4 + shipping on Ebay, but the standard is okay most of the time for me.

Jabra earbooms work great for me on XBOX LIVE and I can use it on my cellphone. The have ear gels that "lock" into your ear.

Any with a 2.5 mm plug, yes. But as I said, you need that black adaptor from the official Live Kit (unless you use that Phoenix Live controller pad with the plug built in).

i use that plantronics headset. it's pretty good although having such a short mike makes me marvel at technology.

i also used the headset that came w/ Unreal Tournament LE. and that works fine as well.

I have both the Rainbow Six 3 headset and the standard Xbox Live one and i really prefer the Xbox Live one. The RS3 version that clips on an ear really pisses me off and starts hurting after a short time whereas the other one doesn't get uncomfortable unless you try to lay back.

I'm a little embarassed to admit it, but I spent the first six months on Xbox Live wearing the headset like a normal pair of headphones, across the top of my head. I managed to miss out on anything that showed the correct way to wear it.

I always thought "Damn this thing is uncomfortable..." Yeah, I'm a moron.

I liked the original headset enough - it was comfy in small doses and had good sound. After an hour and a half or so, it becomes uncomfortable. I'm quite happy with my plantronics.

I hate the XBox headset only becasuse I can not sit back on the couch without it getting knocked off my head. I bought a $5 Madcatz, but it is not that comfy, I think I will look for a plantronics.

I just picked up the Plantronics Halo 2 LE headset in preparation for next week. This thing was $49.99 which I initially balked at but I couldn't resist that packaging But considering I had some Circuit City gift card money left over I basically paid $25 out of pocket for it. I think its great so far, although I've mainly been testing it out with my cell phone. Its very light, and I don't even notice I am wearing it...Not sure about the volume though, seemed a bit low on the receiving end of things. I love how the ear plug itself pivots and rotates.

Once Halo 2 comes in I am planning to set Live up and I am not a fan of the included Live headset...I wear glasses and it gets painful to have them both over my ear at once after awhile. The Plantronics X-20 looks nice as well.

I just plug my cell phone headset in, so I can actually lay back and play.

You should see me at home on LIVE.

Often my friends call on my cellphone so I end up with the LIVE on mute and my cell phone earbud(JABRA) in one ear and my original LIVE headest on the other. It's crazy when I ask the cell to hold while I take LIVE off of MUTE to talk to other players*.

I think it is cheap as well. My solution is to not use it. 90% of the time I end up with some teenagers/kids who think they are all big, swearing and acting childish, so I avoid them like the plague.

Amen Michael Corvin, amen. The only time I use my headset is when it's someone I know, or someone off of this website or some of the sports gaming websites I go to. If it's a complete stranger, I just unplug it.
